People on Twitter don’t have to present a balanced view, unlike the BBC (who am I kidding). The crime is attacking people in cars, not failing to publish other videos. Were there “other videos” from yesterday that you would have wanted to see published? Were they published elsewhere? If not, how do you know there were any videos personally acceptable to you that weren’t published?

id expect curfews first TBH. Most of those involved are U18. Not sure what dragging the army in is supposed to do. Where would you put them? What would they do? It’s just something people say like it’s GTA and the army is just the super police

All that was said was that we shouldn't just instantly believe everything we see, because that machete attack, that was completely fake, looked very, very realistic.

The guy attacked at the pub, the old guy getting beaten up in the street, the black kid getting punched in the face, no-one has said they didn't happen. They looked 100% legit

As someone else said, when some of these videos are coming from dubious accounts though, it is right and proper to just reflect and wait to confirm that they are real.

This bloke there is right in the coppers faces and they have clearly told him to back off and he doesn't.

If they allowed him to continue, others would have joined in and it would have become a problem. The last thing they needed, was hundreds of people right in their faces.

That's completely different to a tasered man who is on the floor, no longer a threat and getting kicked in the head.

One guy, tasered and on the ground, against one guy, standing, confronting the police, with the potential with many others to join in and a group of probably a hundred angry people behind him.

I totally disagree, the pissed up dick head wasn’t being aggressive. There was no suggestion that others would join in. In fact, the coppers action was more likely to provoke a violent reaction from the mob than to have left him alone, stumbling along in his drunken state.

It was violent and unnecessary, especially when you see the level of police response to, say, a marauding mob invading a pub or attacking cars.

Its dead simple. I said I hadn't been online watching videos so wasn't up to speed and had only watched Sky until 9pm. I never said brum attacks by locals didnt happen or was lies just I that I personally hadnt heard about it and only read about it later on BBC website when it was published. I avoid twattter for information as its untrustworthy. Putting number of attacks in perspective you are focusing on one or two areas out of about 20 flashpoints. Just to be clear all hatred and violence is abhorent but in this case the racist, chavs looting and screaming at police officers are deliberately seeking provocation.

I’ll freely admit my view isn’t balanced on this, but I don’t think it’s the time for a balanced view imo. I’ll be out there this week if needed, but I personally think the attendance of the far right will fizzle out very soon and the reactions they have caused in other communities therefore will also fizzle out.

Apologies to any posters I’ve argued with in the thread it’s nothing personal @Nick @Evo1883, it’s just a subject that particularly riles me up. Also @MalcSB called me a twat but that’s true so you can have that one @MalcSB!
