Interested to hear peoples' views on how to extract dangerous and well-armed terrorists in highly built up areas that continue to fire on any attacking forces while simultaneously firing rockets randomly into civilian areas in both the north and south of the country - and how to get your own people back who are still being held hostage?

What would you do in that situation?

They don't give a fuck about the hostages. If they did they wouldn't be bombarding sites where they are potentially held.
Also see the treatment of the hostages families by Netanyahu and his fellow physcos.

Genuinely - what would you do if you were in that situation?
Wouldn’t start from here
Would build a worldwide support for a sustainable solution for the Middle East
Once the attack by Hamas happened it’s shit as are most wars are
But there are conventions to assist inhuman acts from taking place that if we’re being honest is not just Israel acting illegally.
there’s a lot of double standards for some reason when Israel and Palestine are concerned and it’s probably because we historically feel a bit responsible

I am not sure of this is supposed to be a joke.

OK for example?

What I wouldn't have done is committed ethnic cleansing, turned the place into a giant prison and created an ethno state that dehumanises the other group for the best part of a century.

There's a pretty damn good chance none of this happens had Israel made different historical choices.

Or just not assassinated a leader who was actually trying to get peace

Amid rumours of a flurry of vargo flights from Russia to Iran the last 72 hours, Sergey Shoigu has arrived in Iran.

What would you have done then?

What choices do you think the Jews have actually had? They are the ones who have been ethnically cleansed. When they lived among the Arabs, they were periodically slaughtered; we all know how their time in Europe went.

They really are bastards.

Key for me

“A spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said al-Taba’een school "served as an active Hamas and Islamic Jihad military facility" with approximately 20 "militants" operating there.

More than 60 people were killed and 47 injured, the health ministry’s ambulance service said, quoted by the AP news agency.”

These are surely war crimes,

Which makes it okay for them to do it to anyone else.

I've never had anything against the Jewish people for my entire life and I've been around a long time. I studied modern history at Uni in the 1980s and particularly the war in central Europe. I learned more than most about anti semitism and the extermination camps .
But for the first time in my life when I see an Israeli flag (at the Olympic games specifically) I feel it represents not a struggle for freedom, not survival against unimaginable evil. It represents hypocrisy.

One good historical choice would be the six Arab nations not invading Israel at the moment of its birth

Well said.

And subsequent attempted invasions that resulted in the loss of ie. the Golan Heights and Sinai.

You mean the territory that is still considered as illegally occupied by Israel, those Golan heights?

Regardless, if you're trying to make some kind of historical justification for the ongoing genocide in Gaza, well you're just dead wrong I'm afraid.

It's sickening, and should be called out as such at every opportunity. It isn't anti-Semitic to do so.

They would have had to learn to check their anti semetism and know their place.
Had they lost their land to the French or English it would have been called nationalism .
It would have been the same had it been Israel. Not specifically" anti semitism "
