All in completely different positions too. As if we really need a mate for Tatsu and it doesn’t matter what position he plays.

Personally I would love us to explore the Japanese market a bit more, as you get unbelievable value for money for technical, hardworking players.

Interesting to see this summer how many Japanese players are joining the Championship.

If we don’t end up bringing anyone in before the window closes, are the playoffs still within reach? I’m not that confident from a defensive standpoint from I’ve seen so far. Also it appears several teams are getting deals over the line at the last minute.

I think without defensive minded additions to shore things up we will just fall short again.

Which will be a travesty given the attacking options we have invested in.

Well got to hand it to you, you’ve outdone me for words, not an easy task 😂

I take your point but I do think that the chances of all 4 players mentioned being unable to be sold next season is ridiculously slim, so slim that I think it’s worth the risk tbh.

Also I don’t like this notion that keeps cropping up of how “we should be grateful for where we are” or “look where we were a few years ago”. It’s a business and I doubt many successful businesses stop taking opportunities to expand just because they were once smaller a few years ago. We should concentrate on where we’re going and what sort of club we are now rather than looking back at what we used to be.

I said it's a slim chance which is why I said it's all good saying spend the money now, but don't expect other signings next summer for the money you have already spent. You can't keep borrowing against the future.

It's not about being greatful, it's about not appreciating that we ended up in an awful financial situation once before. Let's not go back there on a gamble. You also need to take the rest of the business with it, as another poster mentioned, there has also been significant investment in other areas of the club.

Its a sorry state of affairs that is the financial clout of the promised land when we cant match the wage demands of a lower tier Premier League team's unwanted reserve player. We can however afford to pay the wages of an overseas international player such as Wright which highlights where the best value is

Worrell if it happens looks likely to happen later as Forest want to sell and we can't pay the 40k a week is Forest deal is worth. Forest would rather sell to a team that can pay him most of that than us who they'd need to loan him to or sell and pickup a lot more of his wages.

Parachute payments should be explicitly reserved for paying the difference between FFP in the Championship and existing contracts that were made in the PL. Not buying the league the next season.
I've always thought they shouldn't get a payment as such but the existing wage bill should be covered for the first season . Any additions and additional wages become the burden of the club.

We're playing the long game on Worrall. Forest want to get the best deal, ideally a sale but next best thing is a loan for all his wages.

Come deadline day when they don't have any other offers for him our offer of paying some part of his wages and, I'd guess, a small promotion bonus will be better than having him sat on £50k a week not getting in a matchday squad.

Had a look at that bloke who was supposed to replace Hyam a couple years ago but we couldn’t get the work permit. Marco Rente - looks like he’s doing well for Groningen now. 27 so plenty of experience and right footed CB.

Going to be very difficult to get a Worrall type in our price range so it may have to be someone abroad if we are looking for some experience back there

The financials of the club in terms of incomings won’t have actually changed that much though. Even 10,000 extra ST holders is only worth ~£4m a year. That disappears quickly with the fees/wages we’re paying now. And if our financial security is reliant on having saleable players that can go wrong quickly with injuries/loss of form etc.

What is the annual increase in TV money and when did it come in?
