Think it takes a bit of mean spirit to not be happy for someone from the city who achieved great things in the game. That said, for the 90 minutes he is just another opposition player so would just treat him as such.

Decent draw, they're an excellent team but it's a very winnable game for us and if Spurs turn up and aren't at it, I think we'll punish them. Be nice to see Maddison play at the CBS again. Even when he first broke into the team, you could tell straight away he was destined for the top.

It left a bit of a shit taste that didn't go away for a while as he seemed to be so buzzed about playing for Aberdeen and Norwich.
Water under the bridge now though.

He was getting the shit kicked out of him in every game in league 1.
I remember saying to his dad after one game and before he went to Norwich that he would do better in the premier league as he would get much better protection.
We also need to remember that selling him and the sell on clause probably helped keep the club in business at the time.
