If we don’t go up this season we will be selling our assets and then rebuilding the squad again
Well the chances of going up even with an extra midfielder are slim, and therefore we would still likely to be selling a star asset at least next summer. Thankfully, we've already signed one future replacement to help out. We could have just signed another midfielder in case of an injury crisis though.

Quick question and I expect shit for it but say Kasey stayed and broke his leg tommorow , would there be this much bed wetting as to what’s going on now ? Agreed not ideal however if and it’s a huge if , if sheaf can stay fit we won’t miss KP imo! Always been a luxury player for me and work ethic massively bought into question !
KP has been replaced with Bertie. Said it the other day that EMC replaces KP and Bertie replaces EMC out wide

Intriguing that the club has made a bid for Sonne so late in the window. Suspicious types might think that the club needed to sell a player before Robins could buy.

Maybe the club was hoping too much for the sell on cash from Gyokeres.

A quality midfielder could be the difference though. As it stands we have Rudoni as the only true creative midfielder. It’s great we have an abundance of attacking power but I worry we haven’t got many capable of feeding them

If we’re gonna go down that route - say we don’t sign a central midfielder and sheaf breaks his leg tomorrow…..

This hypothetical scenario is often brought up, but you can’t base a transfer on it

Could be we will bring in a free agent on a short term deal to cover depth until Jan. Its not what most want to hear but could be an option.

Ill get my tin hat on and big coat as i anticipate shit coming my way...
... and shit coming in our way if we get freebies outside the window!

No but the lesson from last season was that the squad was too weak.

Having built the squad, the club promptly made it weaker again by selling Palmer

We didn’t need Bassette if it was at expense of something else?

you could argue that other positions where higher priority than Gk also

I doubt very much doubt Bassette is at the expense of a CM. We have tried to buy at least two that we know of, probably more. Id imagine the bassette deal was because we’ve had our eye on him and had to move quick to stop someone else from buying him. First impressions, I’m glad we did

If we hadn’t tried to sign a CM I’d be annoyed but we obviously have

He’s gonna look like a dick

He's right tbf, we bought an attacker when we didn't need one. Palmer goes. Robins loves Allen and Eccles as spare cms so it's a suck it up kinda day

So we don't sign anyone else until we sign a midfielder? Weird policy
Didn’t say that, but the bassette transfer for example, if that was at expense of something else more urgent, then that’s not smart.

again we didn’t a new GK over some
Midfield upgrades in my view. Colllins would
Have been adequate enough for me.

agree with all of that. I might even suggest that City missed out on 3 midfielders. And the Bassatte and BTA deals were done to take advantage of an opportunity.

Clearly, the club has been shopping for a midfielder and a full back but transfers are notoriously tricky.

I like the clubs approach at the moment which is don’t sell our assets unless we can get top dollar and don’t buy unless it improves us. All manner of dross that would be tomorrow’s well paid boo boys have been mentioned during this window.

What I like about the policy of the past few years is the signing of players that take most people by surprise. The club has identified players and moved quickly to secure talent. Gyokeres, Hamer, etc were never well known and obvious targets

Fare point but would you have Kasey to step into sheaf shoes - not for me

I think we need to be more honest about the 19 goal season .

13 in the league which is fair , but in just 9 matches ,3 already this season without a goal he just doesn't strike me as an out and out goalscorer .
He's scored 13 in 49 league matches which is almost 1 in 4 and in 9 league games , so 40 league games without a goal , that's almost 80% of matches he's not scored in

Wright is the better goalscorer

I quite like simms tbh , but I'd rather sign billing plus cash .. billing must be worth 15 mill plus
Be interesting to see stats on his goals vs chances/shots ratio
