I did not come on here right after the game as I suspected that it would be full of people who were only one step from calling The Samaritans. However my 5 things are

1. Sakamoto has lost it. See other thread. You might say the same for Simms and (very sadly) Bidwell
2. It's not the defensive aspect of midfield we need to worry about, it's the attack. Rudoni barely contributed. They seemed to have 13 men to our 11. Our goal tally is 0-1-3-1-1-0....pathetic really
3. Torp on the other hand had a good game as a scrapping midfielder. He made a bit of a goof and was hooked, but otherwise he was the best of the bunch by far.
4. EMC looks a real handful - liked what I saw. But still can't work out why we spent so much money for two people in the same slot though - Haji and EMC.
5. Never seen Robins do so many panicky substitutions before. Not his style at all. More worrying than anything else.

4-4-2 with Haji and Bassette up front and Lati as a defensive midfielder to ensure a clean sheet if nothing else. When Robins is under pressure his usual modus operandi is to hunker down go on the defensive and scrap for some clean sheets.

Overheard a chap on the way back to my car say that Sheaf is out for months. Is this true?
Not unless robins was lying

agree with some of that...
1, saka needs to reinvent himself. it's common for a second season when people have worked you out.
simms got shit service, so no issues with him from me.
bidders looked off the pace, and needed to leave an extra yard to compensate. not sure if this is a permanent problem or not.
4, emc did get better as his spell went on. but, personally, i would use him off the bench for now. fresh legs, and a new threat to deal with late on is always a good idea.
5, yeah, it did seem a bit desperate at the end.

lati in midfield might might be a good call.
if we go for 4-4-2 i would play simms and bassette. bassette looks good, and i'd like to see him get some minutes, assuming of course he would get some decent service.

whether sheaf is back or not, we need to solve this. because he will miss some games, we know that. and our whole season cannot be reliant on a single player being available.

Simms can’t hold the ball up. Fair enough we aren’t playing to his strengths and he’s proven he can score goals but if you’re not in the game, at least hold the ball up and be a pest on the defenders and he isn’t doing either.

What’s the point in winning flick on headers if it goes straight to an opposing player.

Robins will sort it out or he’ll be gone but there is loads wrong with us at the moment, loads.

Totally agree about Cassette. I'd slot him in and press play.

downed tools? He played 90 mins day before the incident not as though he went on strike

He wasn’t offered a new contract so said he wanted to leave. Robins has confirmed that the way palmer is there was no point in keeping him as his attitude would be an issue. He can’t go on strike just not do very much.

Given O Hare has had pelters on here for his attitude it’s interesting the relative silence on the manager admitting palmers ego was the reason he had to leave the club and he and his agent demanded it

Most the team are scared shitless to have the ball at the moment.
Torp tried, got his head down and dug in better but that's not really enough.
Eccles always get the ball more, works and tackles which is worth something but isn't a forward passer.
Saka has developed a more negative approach. Not running forward at people or doing tricks (they actually work despite some mocking).
Rudoni seems out of position and too restricted in his role. But isn't a number 10, we don't have one.
Simms feeding off scraps but doesn't get involved enough.
Bassette will be interesting with his passion. Could help positively shake things up. But he needs to deliver an assist or goal in the next few games.

On the contrary I think some have posted a fair bit about Palmer recently

I've waited a while to comment on this game as it's always best to keep emotions out of it. This game was a wake-up call for me in the fact that I thought we were so poor and Norwich destroyed us.

Hopefully, it was a one-off and we can bounce back but I felt we were poor across the whole team and it massively curbed my expectation regarding play-offs this season.

It's a totally brand new jig, new background staff and coaches it's not just going to happen in a week or so lol. Yes we should of played better regarding the effort but it will come, I trust Robins and the staff and we need niggles like this to improve we can't be any worse fingers crossed lol but back the lads and see where we go. Can't wait to beat spurs and draw against Watford ...

...we were so poor and Norwich destroyed us.

Dovin didn't have a save to make all game.

First half we never gave them a look in.

After they scored, they killed the game.

Result was poor. Second half mostly poor.
