USSR invades Ukraine. (11 Viewers)

In 2022 the 2 countries had held talks

the documents shows that the two sides clashed over issues including weapons levels, the terms of Ukraine’s potential membership in the European Union, and specific Ukrainian laws on language and culture that Russia wanted repealed . Ukraine’s negotiators offered to forgo NATO membership, and to accept Russian occupation of parts of their territory. But they refused to recognize Russian sovereignty over them.

What's happened since then has probably changed this, as America being in the ear with a huge financial stake will hold huge influence now .

What's the answer ? Global conflict ? No thanks

Let’s face it, Ukraine wouldn’t actually be the ones negotiating.

Sleepy Joe, giggling Kamala and The Donald don’t fill me with confidence

The Biden administration know that Ukraine is doomed but can't lose face by pulling the plug and negotiating before the election.
As soon as Kackling Kamala is elected support will end.

There would likely be the same outcome under Demented Donald as well.

Errr.. peace is the right thing , talk and negotiate a peace deal .

This war will never be won by Ukraine and as stated many many many times before could escalate further
Trouble is Zelenski and Ukraine have been wronged and us richous folks must stand up for them. Should have dealt last year, know it's a shit having to make concessions with that nutter, but if Trump gets in he might have to settle for worse.

I didn’t say or think they would be. But seeing as what should actually be happening is full Russian withdrawal and reparations, officially recognising NATO membership for Ukraine in exchange for keeping territory they stole is a very generous offer.

I see there’s been a PoW exchange. My overly optimistic side hopes that the threat of allowing Ukraine to use the weapons in Russia is part of a wider negotiation….we live in hope

Poland know the crack

Well said that man.

America needs to be carful (is that an oxymoron?) This conflict in Ukraine could spell the beginning of the end for Nato as more and more members see through Americas plan for continuous wars.

Turkey has already warned that it will not support USA's continued provocation of Russia.

Nobody needs to attack Russia, they need to give Ukraine what it needs. The chance to do that most easily was missed though.

Isn't what Ukraine needs, and is asking for, is the ability to attack Russia?
They gave them tanks, they didn't make an impact.
They have planes, they still cant push them back.
Strike a deal, make consessions, break the stalemate without hitting the big button.

They've got like 6 F16s, it's hardly going to be a difference maker at those kinds of numbers. Plenty of kit they have received has made a huge impact though.

And no one is going to press the big button.

It is a tricky one.

On one hand I don't see why Ukraine should negotiate anything other than the complete restoration of its pre-2014 borders. Bullies like Putin should always be stood up to.

On the other hand I don't think Ukraine is worth having a Nuclear war over
yes and no. It’s how to deal with Putin’s brinkmanship.

Donald is the only one saying he would seek to end the war tbf.

All the others are rubbing their hands at the prospect of WW3
But the trouble is Trump is the most volatile and unpredictable of them all.

All it's take it Putin to call him stupid or something and he'd be immediately threatening to destroy them.

He never bombed anyone or invaded anywhere.
Apart from Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria and Pakistan. Didn’t he famously break US bombing records too? I remember reading an article early in his presidency that the US dropped 7500 bombs in one day. For the purpose of equivalence Obama’s record was something 1500 in one day. IIRC he then went on to drop more bombs in his first 18 months in his presidency than Obama did in 2 terms. Not sure where you’re getting your stats from but it’s clearly bullshit of the highest order.

I think the Trump Derangement Syndrome is getting to a few of you on here.

Clown or not, he's the most likely to be able to make some consessions with Putin, and a lot less likely to get pulled into all out war than the Democrats.

TDS is certainly happening. Not sure it’s everyone else with it though mate.

He’s a senile old car salesman, not your Dad.

Well you're sort of right.

He's the most likely to give concessions to Putin because Putin knows how to play him like a fiddle.

I see the ‘Victory Plan’ is being presented later this week with further demands…I’m sure that’s what the infamous counteroffensive was called at one point as well.

The nearly 3 year war was once called a 3 day special operation, but yeah it's Ukraine's counteroffensive efforts that should be mocked

I’m not mocking it; the whole thing has been a massive waste of human life, misery and money. I’d like to see the fighting end ASAP.
