I think Robins’s main strength is creating a siege mentality and then dragging out the extra 10% out of limited players.I think one of Robins’ strengths over the course of time (with us, at least) has been surrounding himself with the right people. Seems that has been taken out of his hands now, which will make things understandably more difficult.
Tactically he isn’t the best and a lot of our success in terms of playing style has almost been accidental, when a key player has got injured. He’s been very good at getting the squad mentality right over the course of time but I feel like we’re starting to see some of his deficiencies come to the fore. In fairness, as alluded to, some of those have been due to lost influence.
since he’s been backed there’s very few players that have gone on to better after us. There’s obviously the none limited players - Gyokeres, Hamer, O’Hare - who will have top careers - but other than Chaplin they’ve all rapidly declined
