5'year plan that is in year two? Why some fans are I bought a Premier package and want it now is beyond me? We are turning into a bunch of wingie West Ham fans

Generally speaking if your aim is to be in the Premier League within the next 3 seasons, its not a good idea to get into a Championship relegation battle

The right side of our defence has been very poor so far this season (including MVE)....Teams are exploiting the weakness and Leeds were exploiting it straight from the start today.
Reading the comments in other posts Bidwell had been responsible for virtually every goal we have conceded this season.

Into the super fan stuff again

Most football fans aren't like that.

Most people have limited financial resources and will prioritise their spend.

No Championship club (exception of Sunderland) can pull in 28k+ fans with a team that can't be arsed

Yes they can. A city the size of ours should not struggle to get 25,000 regular match going fans.

It will be very disappointing if the 'new' fans vacate the club again just because we have a few mid table seasons.

We were shit for many years. There were plenty of reasons for fans to become disenfranchised in the 00s and 10s. They were proper reasons, not because we are looking at a mid table season in the same calendar year as reaching an FA Cup semi final.

Its in year 3?

Give me the date Doug King took over. Then give me the date he announced his 5 year plan. The beginning of year 3 is totally different to the end of year 3.

Eg. Some years we have been in one league and at the end of a season been in another?

Ironically today he played further forward and provided zero support.

It's happening regardless of which players are there.

Its almost as if the system doesn't work.
The system has worked, all over the pitch the players are just not working hard enough. Especially without the ball either when we're out of possession or in possession.

Whether it's Robins, Doug or the players not stepping up, we need leaders.

I said it weeks back and told those times had gone and we were progressive and playing better football.

Now I think a few more are coming round. It doesn't have to just be Fadz or Doyler type as much as id love one, but we've lost experience in the dressing room in the likes of Kelly and Godden, even O'hare was 5 years in our DNA, maybe none of them are the greatest players but you can't replace overnight what they gave us and that should've been recognised.

When Hansen said you can't win anything with kids and was ridiculed all those years back he was right. Ok we're not United, but they still had some experienced players alongside those talented kids.

If it's not addressed we'll continue like this, Robins will pay the price (and tbh if he does, it's probably deserved). No good Doug having a policy of players to make money off if they can't take you anywhere. When the times are tough leaders are even more important.

At 1 nil down today I knew we were done, I never feel like that and usually think we can come back.
On your last paragraph more worryingly you know the players felt the same

I'm more pissed off tonight than I have been for a long time. Every slow start to a season I have made excuses for and to be fair there have been some really good ones. This year there really aren't that many excuses and we are still starting the season with the same old handicap. I just don't think that can carry on. I keep saying I'm sure Robins will turn it around but why do we always have to start from near the relegation zone it just makes any chance of playoff's or better more unlikely, we all enjoy the run in and have hope but it could be so much more.

It is not planned but it happens. The key is not to pannick or you can set yourself back years. Apple in a barrel of water, the more you try to get it the more it bobs away from you. We are years off being Premiership ready . The five year plan is a plan and never was a nailed on cert promise!!!!

No other club pulls in that many with a team showing no effort

And we aren't mid table. We're at the bottom

It’s not just the players that are the issue but if you think they are putting anything close to a respectable shift in then I hope you don't run a business.

You meet an arsehole you met and arsehole. Everyone you meet is an arsehole then you’re the arsehole.

This is a metaphor for management.

If you think that then you don't know Coventry and you're not from here. It's never been a city with a large local fan base. We weren't getting those numbers in the Premiership years.

Don't agree with what's being said in this thread at all. No evidence the players are not trying or don't care. They are professionals and won't be looking at sabotaging their careers. 99% of us wouldn't turn up to our jobs and not bother, and neither would they. There are clearly issues involving confidence and players not fully understanding how they should be playing/not being able to play in the system. Robins has a history of taking time working out how to get the right performances out of his players, and has always been stubborn.

I'm annoyed at the players. I feel we are too soft. There's no battle. Our leadership is poor. Our captain isn't a real captain.

The one thing that stands out is if what is being said about Robins is true, he deserves some time off to grieve. It's awful this is happening at a time like this and I don't feel good having a go at him.

Should it be the case, the players need to step up at a time like this. However, what do we see? Nothing. It's time to see some characters and intent. If we want to progress then some of these players who are weak minded need to go. There were rumours that Viveash got bombed out because of his 'old school ways', those players that forced this, included our overrated captain who was at the front of this scandal and have something to answer for. Our performances have dropped and defeat seems acceptable.

Your boss is struggling in life and you turn up like you do today, and versus Swansea. Also cuck against Spurs in the dying moments (Sheaf again). Get angry at those swapping in tickets, but how can you blame them? If you're going to lose, go out with a fight. At the moment we couldn't punch our way out of a plastic bag. It's pathetic, and anyone having a go at those upset are just silly. You can't charge premium prices and turn up without a care in the world. Wholesale changes needed.

It really pisses me off that they were capable of turning up and putting in a performance when ww were playing a glamour tie against Spurs but have chucked in these two back to back horror shows straight afterwards. To me that suggests that it is an issue with the players to be honest. We saw the same thing last season with the difference is performance levels in the cup games and the league games. If these players can only be arsed go show up when the cameras are on then then honestly they can all fuck off.

What the fuck are you on about?
It's you who's talking about 2 stands closed because people can't be arsed to take a bit of adversity on the chin.

You've posted a few things tonight that make me question do you actually follow football.

For, at a minimum, 90% of teams, are shite and achieve nothing.

If people want a continuous upward trajectory then not many teams can offer that, and city certainly can't.
Yet they did, didn't they?

Just the backroom upheaval which is valid is it not,or potentially someone (s)
got grievance that's affecting the whole?
We have heard several times from the man himself that some factors are not his remit now?

7 games into a season that follows on from 7 succesful seasons and people want to chuck it because of a few bad performances?
Well fuck them. I'd rather be backat Forest Green and they can go back to whatever the fuck they were doing before.

I bet, If I look tomorrow, they'll be a thread or posts on here moaning g about how entitled the fans of some premiership or other are.

The fucking irony.
Yep. It's amazing how football is one of the few consumer capitalist models that can serve up pure shite to its customers and people keep coming back, I will be there on Tuesday, as I was away at Fleetwood on a cold winter Tuesday evening a few moons ago.

The whole thing is disjointed the backroom staff don't seem to be able to get there own bit clicking with the other coaches bits.Thats if how they are working ie,defensive coach, midfield coach and attacking coach.Like my comment to many coaches.

The clown you're responding to obviously fucked the club off between 2014 and 2023 judging by his absence from here, wouldn't be arsed if people of his entitled ilk fucked off again to be honest

We can blame Robins, King or whoever we like but there's no excuse for basic footballing ability or effort and that's on the players.

We are in year 2 with this group and we have hit rock bottom. Barring a few exceptions like MVE my faith in the group is gone.

Promotion is already looking extremely unlikely. I would look at moving as many of these on and starting again the next two windows.

Let's make a profit on Simms, Wright, MVE and hopefully convince someone to slap 8-10 million down on Sheaf. I'd also look at moving on at least one of thomas/kitching and bring in a proven CB.

There are a bunch of players stealing a living atm - let's just shift them on and bring people in that are actually going to fight for the shirt.

If Wright simms and MVE are worth more than we paid for them then why would we sell them? They've obviously improved if that's the case?
