Dennis left in march, you could argue that point, but we had 1 win in the last 8 games of last season. Adi surely had nothing to do with that.

id argue that Adi also had his hand in the transfers for this season, cant blame MR for everything.

im just so sad, its all so disappointing.
The latter part of last season there was a combination of players being physically knackered due to lack of depth of squad and probably mentally affected by the manner of the loss at Wembley. I doubt Adi had any say in the transfers for this season.

Complete hysteria by many of the usuals. Sheffield Wednesday didn't deserve that win. The team performed ok and deserved more. The need to single out individuals says a lot about some on here. We go again - fuck the negativity and doomsayers - support the team.

Ok King Canute

It was a new squad?
Getting annoyed to be honest by the idea we have always started badly. Last year we had a new squad, most not playing in the championship. Year before that the pests destroyed the pitch and we could barely get regular playing time.

And the year before that? We went top of the league against Peterborough. There is no excuse for how bad we’ve started this campaign.

Going by the radio commentary, as well as the extended Sky Sports highlights, we really could and should have carved out at least three to four golden chances to add to our solitary goal.

It’s that final composure and focus when it comes to actually playing someone in, crossing adequately etc, or even players being in the right place (IE where Wright was 90% of the time last season to put one away in the box) that is severely lacking.

Disjointed, clunky, dishevelled performances from the defence upwards.

It has to change, otherwise we are going to be neck deep in shit by January.

By my maths we're -10 points down from last season in terms of results in the equivalent fixtures. Sheff Weds at home and Stoke away both gone from wins to loses, Leeds away, Norwich at home and Swansea at home all gone from draws to losses and Watford away gone from a win to a draw. Bristol City away the only game so far where we got a better result than last season going from a loss to a draw.

If you wanted to consider Oxford as Huddersfield, it’d be a mere -8 point difference.

What game did you watch?
DT81. You can’t say you took any positives from the game on here. You have to row in with the prevailing narrative. So please choose any of the following. We can’t defend. We can’t attack. Our keeper is useless. We have no midfield. We have no leaders or experience or game management. We’ve spent £45m on nothing and not replaced anyone. All the coaches that have joined are crap, those that have left are Pep reincarnate. Robins needs replacing. King needs replacing. Players on the bench are Messi, until they start and then they are crap. There is probably more. It’s ridiculous

People have claimed we were the better side throughout, that only we were trying to win, that we got sneaked out by a late goal etc etc. It doesn’t tally with what we saw on the pitch yesterday.

We were carved open with ease, many times. Ignoring how often Wilson tried to do a Kitching, we couldn’t cope with the opposition for much of the game. It’s a minor miracle we didn’t concede 4 or 5.

It’s also crap to say we will make a profit on every player we’ve signed

Not saying it’s going well. But the over reaction is huge. It’s all odd goal stuff apart from Leeds. That suggests that whilst of course we need to improve the margins are not that great. There also seems to be a disproportionate amount of focus on us going forward. It’s defensively that we are costing ourselves on a very regular basis.

It was. We've also lost and replaced players this year.

We've got an entire new group of backroom staff.

Our attack hinges on Wright turning up, and he has only turned up about 3 times so far. Simms is a passenger without O’Hare behind him, pulling players left and right.

Bassette and BTA are not capable of carrying the attack as solo strikers, if the support from the wide forwards is lacking.

Our midfield is constantly being bypassed and overrun.

Our defence is dependant on fullbacks getting help from wide forwards, and the CB partnership being focused and organised. Neither appears to be happening.

Leeds at home last season was the last time we played like the system and the players were a unit. The cup run was a false dawn, as it highlighted that for some players, the ‘big stage’ was their motivation, not the pride in the shirt they’re wearing. Nor the obscene amount of money they’re paid to play a game that should be their ultimate passion.

I’m afraid the blind optimism, ignoring the salient and ongoing warning signs, is utter futility.
I feel that this time, the results aren’t going to suddenly change, and enable us to fly up the table on a 17 match unbeaten run. There’s no evidence to suggest it.

Agree. But it depends on what you were expecting in the first place. Anyone who predicts things in the championship is taking a huge leap of faith. We’ll be comfortably top half. Some may see that as a disaster. King might. But the reality is it’s a solid season for us.

I would see top half as a success, personally. However, like you have mentioned, I doubt King would.

Overall, I fear that we’re a good 4-5 players off even thinking about the playoffs.
