Not sure we have the forwards for a Klopp team and Pep coaches the fuck out of his teams to get them to stand on the exact inch of grass and you don't have enough time with an international team to do this.
Undoubtedly the most successful manager who is available.A pretty uninspiring appointment
I see this as an appointment for the next World Cup and likely no further, he will surely still have his eye on club management.Undoubtedly the most successful manager who is available.
The FA could’ve hired Tuchel in the summer so it’s not unreasonable to suspect that they approached Klopp and/or Pep and neither of them fancied it.
Tuchel isn’t exactly well known for playing attacking football either so he’ll need to hit the ground running.

Nobody really, just pretty disappointing that a German manager that isn't even considered the best German manager is a better pedigree than all the english managers we have to offer.Who would you appoint who wants the job and has a similar track record
Tuchel had signed the contract before the Greece game it’s been reported, which goes some way to explaining Carlsey’s blase attitude to the job.Nobody really, just pretty disappointing that a German manager that isn't even considered the best German manager is a better pedigree than all the english managers we have to offer.
Appears to be very little thought put into this appointment, suppose the FAs plans were scuppered by the Greece and Finland games and have rushed into an appointment.

Yea not sure if I believe that or just the FA trying to make it look like they had a plan.Tuchel had signed the contract before the Greece game it’s been reported, which goes some way to explaining Carlsey’s blase attitude to the job.
I'd say the German league is very competitiveA lot of rubbish about how Tuchel is a good appointment as he got the best out of Kane, Kane scored so many goals cause he was playing for the top goalscorers in Germany and the weaker teams are generally less competitive in Germany.
Kanes just been hammered for his performance in the Euros in the Summer ignoring that his coach for the last 12 months leading into the tournament was Tuchel, he should have been confident, fit and firing according to the narrative now that Tuchel is gonna get the best out of Kane.
Agree on Pep. His coaching is high intensity and infinite attention to detail. Hard to do that when you're only getting the players for short periods. That's bollocks you must know that, the FA would have agonized about this appointment, the inevitable nationalistic outrage would have been firmly in their mind.
Maybe they did approach Pep and Klopp first but that's standard practice if you want to fill the position with the best candidate (I actually think Pep would struggle with the lack of player contact)
The guy won the Champions league with an average Chelsea team, he is a good coach and way better than any other English or available candidate
Yes, he is a better manager the current English managers, Potter, Howe etc are not as good has him.Nobody really, just pretty disappointing that a German manager that isn't even considered the best German manager is a better pedigree than all the english managers we have to offer.

Yep. Need to give Tommy Tickle a chance.Yes, he is a better manager the current English managers, Potter, Howe etc are not as good has him.
He's just as successful as say Klopp.
He is the best manager that England can realistically get to manage them.
I don’t think Tuchel is the right man for the job and his teams are all quite low xG so let’s see how long he has the goodwill of fans if we’re playing more or less like Southgate. He’s tetchy in the press so it’s easy to see how Tuchel unravels in the England job.
That said, his teams do well in tournament football which is a big plus.
Carsley is Brummie and he’s in that category of player that is English and decided his only route to intnl football was through the B team (ROI).
I wonder who the English candidates they interviewed were?
His suggestion of signing European players for the team quickly ruled him out of contention.Blueskiesforever was one
Yeah, it's a shame Steve Evans isn't English.England have appointed probably the best available manager for the job, no one seems to be able to provide a better realistic candidate.
The lack of any suitable English candidates is a different conversation all together.
This is chicken and egg thinking here… What major nations have dabbled in hiring foreign managers? I can only think of Belgium, Portugal and ourselves. As a counter argument there is - I believe - only one foreign manager of a nation that has won a major trophy in Europe or S America or the World Cup

We put too much importance on the manager and think Carsley would’ve probably done a good job with the team given time. There’s no point in having a coaching pathway if when the chips are down, they’ll bottle it and hire ‘the best’ available manager.
Fair enough - that’s way past my time and could not remember a Dutch national team manager being foreign-born in the 90s to present day.The Netherlands did in the 70's for sure
Don’t get him over to these sections as wellBlueskiesforever was one
