I am utterly convinced we won't be anywhere near the relegation places this season.

As it stands though, I can't see us getting much past mid-table. Things need to change.
If we start picking up results, we'll probably end up around 16th-18th. If this carries on we'll be relegated.

From facebook page

"MR could bring us back to League 2 and I will still stand by him. Done an unbelievable job for us and we are now in such better condition as a club then we have for years..! People have such short memories"

He isn't alone amongst the fan base and DK knows it. MR won't go anywhere
So we should undue everything we’ve achieved as a club? How many people’s Jobs would be lost, all for the memories. We can’t let it happen again. Almost destroyed us the first time.

You appoint a manager who is happy to work with young players and has a proven track record of developing them if that's your model.
Such a manager will still say that developing players is much easier if you have some model or established pros there to help them, case in point McF improving Doyle for a whole season.

old Doug’s gone a bit quiet, was giving interviews all over the place last season , if He’s 100% behind robins he’s coming out in the next few days and saying shut the fuck up he‘s going nowhere ( maybe telling if he doesn’t ) back your manager, and take the pressure of him that he doesn’t deserve, ok so might not be a play off season, he’s allowed one bad one surely ? He’s earned that
Ah, the old vote of confidence thing. We know what comes after that.
Your final point is spot on. Life doesn't follow a steady upwards trajectory; football's no different.

💯% 2 promotions, and more Wembley visits than we've had in our history, and he has 1 bad run, and all the cunts come out the woodwork!

I'f Doug had any bollocks he'd come out and say MR is here for at least the rest of his contract, and if you can't show support during this bad run, don't fucking bother coming.

Not saying I agree just that there is a lot of that sentiment around

I’d rather rip my eyeballs out than watch a Cov team managed by that cretin
He wouldn’t be my choice for sure, I just think he ticks a lot of boxes that Mr King will be looking for if we end up in that predicament.

Based on what? The players look half arsed, Robins head has gone, seemingly no togetherness behind the scenes.

This team struggles to make an impact against the teams around it and has been outclassed by the giants of Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday.

Relegation fodder.

I see little reason to think we’ll turn it around beyond ‘well we’ve done it before’. The performances have been awful and we fully deserved to be where we are in the league.

No, what destroyed us was making rash decisions. A merry go round of hiring & firing sh*t managers every 12 months.

Do you know what has got us back? Stability.

We're 9 games in and we have a thread discussing our next manager. So much for our great fans. I hope we get relegated if you lot convince DK to pull the trigger.

I don’t want to pull the trigger yet. I’ve laid out my concerns and hope I’m wrong.

If you read what I was responding too it was a fan saying mark would stay if he relegated us to League two. Surely you’d agree you would move him on before that point.

I don’t want to go back into the merry go round. I’d hope if we did we could get a manager looking at long term. I said earlier I would give him until Sunderland but my concerns are the same, I think it’s getting away from him.

Having slept on it and calmed down, I think we should give MR this season to judge if his philosophy of buying young raw talent seems to be working. However, I will abide by Doug's decision, not the decision of arm chair managerp

Yes, of course I agree, if we were to fall to L2, MR would not be the manager. That will not happen though, especially not under him.

Even if we struggle for the rest of the season, he stays. He deserves the chance to rectify the problems in the next two windows, we're not getting relegated.

We said we weren’t getting relegated from the premier league the season we did

I don’t want to see him gone.
Look at our friends in the North. Gone through several shit managers over the last 5/6 years (TM gets a plus here) before landing a relatively unknown French manager who has taken the same squad of players towards the top of the league.
Looks to be working out now for them but lost years getting there.

I’d hate to be back on the managerial merry go round.

Based on Wright and Simms' and BTA's goal stats last season, that Sheaf isn't quite back to his best yet and down to Robins being such a brilliant manager for us

I think we will be well clear of any trouble.

They've lost years getting there? What?
If it works out for them and they go up, it'll have been shown to have been the right decision.

Seems to be arguing the opposite of what it was intended to doesn't it 😂
