Mr King.
Do you realise what you just have done?
How long or hopefully short your tenure at our club is you will NEVER be forgiven for the ludicrous decision to sack Mark Robins.
Do you not realise what this man has done for our club and how much he means to the vast majority of the fans ?
Just look at the polls and dismiss the Johnnie cum latelies who wanted him out .
I for one want Mark back and you gone from our club forever.

We want to get into the Premier League and Doug has decided that Mark is not likely to get us there and therefore has made a change.

Whilst many of us don’t like to see Mark go i thought this analogy might help

We decide we want to trek through the Amazon jungle to a new destination. At the start of the journey we use a guide who hasn;’t been through the AMAZON before but he has successfully guided us through other jungles In the region.

After 2 years of trekking and millions in investment we were further away from the destination than when we started.

We therefore take the decision to swap guides to someone who has a track record of getting through the AMAZON specifically.

We feel disloyal to guide one who has been great to us on previous treks but does that make the decision to swap wrong ?

It's not to do with any of that! It's to do with the way it was done! Totally without respect for what's gone before. To use your analogy, it was the original guide who had the courage to enter the Amazon jungle, who set us on our way!

OK so at what point do you either give up on the hope of getting through the jungle or swap guides ?

DK feels 2 years and £50m was his point.

I remember this one!

it was when we sacked Eric Black and appointed Peter Reid who would “guarantee promotion”.

Yes me too.

Its all about who you appoint and where they are on their career curve.

Reid was on the downward curve and acted like he was doing us a favour. We don’t want that.

Who ever we appoint need to be hungry.

What if the head of your party had took the guides map and compass off him before you set off?

Did the new guide use an ordnance survey map to navigate or Google maps on his iPad?

Ok, but can we substitute Amazon Jungle for Concrete Jungle 🤔 it’s just a bit more Coventry.

He didn’t though did he

he asked the guide what do you need to succeed and then invested £50m in that

Yes he did.
Defensive coach not replaced
Assistant not replaced
Experienced players not replaced.
Loa market not utilised.

YOu can come up with all the jungle analogies you want but all of the above are facts.

It's a tawdry way to treat a loyal manager and its not how I want my club run.

Good analogy provided you can find a new guide with the required track record.

Good analogy. But what if the entire party had been dropped in the Serengeti first and guide one had somehow got them to the Amazon.

If you are so blinkered you cannot see Robins has a material part to play in our current under performance then I’m not sure what to say

I like Mark, I wouldn’t have fired him, but I can understand why a different decision was made.

For every post you can link where I've said Robins is blameless I'll give you a tenner.
For every post I can link where I'm critical of Robins you give me a quid, deal?

People that think the recruitment is entirely on Robins need to look back at his interviews over the last 2 years. Summer before last he was banging on about 'needing to replace Hamers energy in the middle of the park, this summer 'a different type of player' 'more experience'. Do the players we brought in really fit that description?

I think we are all on board with the buy young sell big approach. This seems to be Doug's policy more than Robins. With that in mind you can look at Lampards time at Derby and Chelsea and see why he appeals.

I don’t get it. Where does Sakamoto fit in this story?
