Talking about him on Soccer Saturday now and how he’s never linked - there’s a reason he isn’t linked, Coventry was intended as his last job - I’m telling you!

Robins to Luton? Edwards will be gone soon, Luton currently 4-0 down at Boro.

Tbf he was the longest serving manager in the championship, And in the top 2 or 3 in the entire football league.

That's what made it such a bloody shock.

Wherever he ends up next, they are getting a bloody good manager. I just hope for all our sakes that King's plans come off, otherwise this decision is going to look like the biggest cluster fuck in the clubs history.
Showing loyalty to someone is pretty easy when they’re providing you with ongoing success, sacking him at the first sign of trouble displays a distinct lack of loyalty imho.

Hope he does well wherever he goes.
I'm sure some chairmen who might be contemplating firing their manager might be tempted to press the button sooner than they anticipated now that Robins is available. Luton spring to mind

Robins has been brilliant for us. One of the top managers we have had in the 56 years I have been supporting the club. He dragged us out of our darkest moments

I don't care what team he might come back with, I would stand up and applaud him

We need to focus on Coventry City now at the same time wishing him all the best. If he does return he'll be treated with warmth and respect as he should be.

Think Robins might want a 6month rest from football after his time with us and the obvious personal hurt he has had recently. If and when he does return to the CBS the vast majority of fans will welcome him and he will always be remembered as one of our very best.

Really?? We came 9th a season after he left.
We still haven’t come close to replacing that quality and this is particularly evident this season. The manager needs to get quality players in this department asap - we’re no probably going to have to replace Sheaf and possibly Eccles in the summer too.

It was the first test Doug failed and the first of the heart of that squad to go. Vik was quality but not the same personality as well and was always going to leave. Probably even if we got promoted. He’s been too keen to replace what we had and it’s meant there’s been no continuity.

He's got to want a rest hasn't he? Few months at least. Definitely think Norwich would be one he couldn't turn down but other than that what's the rush he's gonna be cashing a fat cheque from Douglas soon enough might as well chill out and wait for the perfect gig

I’d imagine he’d find it difficult to turn Norwich or Rotherham down, if they came knocking.

Personally, I think he’ll take a well earned break for now, though.

Whilst I think there's a lot of mistakes you can lay at King's door, I'm not sure how Hamer leaving is one of them.

He was off as soon as Dabo skied his penalty. Just because we hoped / thought he might stay doesn't change that.

We desperately miss his vision more than anything, but it's not as if we haven't tried to replace him, however unsuccessful that might have been. We aren't in the market for £15m midfielders, so were never going to get a player of the same quality as Hamer was in his final season. We actually did what we should have done, and reinvested the money across the squad; in that sense King did exactly what we needed him to do to allow progression. If that recruitment was crap, then that's not the same problem as a player who'd outgrown us leaving.

Would definitely be one to welcome onto the pitch at legends day instead of Steve Morgan.
