Do you reckon Frank would be an expensive hire? He can't be short of money from his playing days. I wonder if he'd not be all that expensive if we give him the opportunity, at least to begin with.

Only wonder because I have a feeling whoever is next has a huge job of following Robin's and getting the fans onside. I'd imagine if things don't go well very quickly things will get toxic fast. More so than the run of the mill managerial change.

So on that is it best to go for a cheaper option that has risk/potential first as its pretty likely to end badly whoever takes over?

I get what you're saying, but the statement when Robins was sacked was the new manager would work with the existing coaching structure at the club.

Just seems a little strange to fuck everyone off after spending all that time and money on appointing them.

structure doesn’t necessarily mean same people.

Two parts I guess:

If Robins put it in which I don’t think he did, we aren’t completely keeping it as we’re changing the main role to a head coach meaning less impact on recruitment allowing the club to have a higher control on the overall vision.

If he didn’t, It’s a fairly modern system which a lot of teams in our league and the teams we want to emulate (Brighton and Brentford) use. It seeks to create more structure in finding targets for future managers, players and coaches and this allows more stability.

We knew we needed to evolve at some point as we had some many misses by just looking at the Chelsea youth team (which funny enough is what we’re getting back xD).

If its the latter it makes no sense to change what's brought us success. At some point we'd have to, but doing it now? Doesn't make sense.

He won a title, and that was proof he could manage a team effectively. Lampard doesn't have that yet, although I sincerely hope he ends up being one of our greatest ever coaches, if appointed.

Terry Butcher has won a title. Perhaps we should get him back.

It’s happened too quickly and completely agree on that.

The problem tho is we don’t know how willing that timeline was as we still don’t know why Adi Vinesh was sacked. If it was Gross misconduct, the system was sadly going to be broke up so why carry on with it when we could start on the plan.

If Adi was sacked for no reason but the new system, then that is equal to what’s happened with Robins on the what the fuck scale. Hope we get some clarity on Adi tomorrow

Makes more sense to me that it was now Robins has been sacked. Why would you recruit Chris only to sack the manager who wants him. Think Doug’s been thinking about this for a while and needed a trigger after out form turned
That’s a possibility because results have been bad this season and after PNE the decision to sack MR made the most “sense”.

Whoever has watched our games this season can see we’ve gone backwards from last season.

It’s not a POV I share, but could anyone blame King for looking at the last 30 or so games and come to the conclusion that MR was unable to turn it around?

There's no way we'll get clarity on what happened with Viveash tomorrow. Especially as it seems they'll be some on going legals.

Yeah don’t think Mark publicly thanking Doug for not sacking him after Luton was for no reason.

He would have heard something or got a feeling about it. Problem was Doug might of given Luton as the chance to turn it and when we did, was probably waiting for the chance as in his mind he thought to get rid.

So King, who admits to knowing nothing about football, decided to rip up what brought us success and threw Robins under the bus when it didn't work?

It isn't the structure that's the issue. Having more people being able to specialise in certain areas is a step forward not backwards. Our previous setup was really basic bitch. Not saying anything about how successful it has been, or lack there of, but the structural changes make sense. Have there been teething problems, 100%, is that Mark Robins fault, mostly not.

Which most including me disagree with. But we don’t know how who else will be impacted, since Dean is there tomorrow hopefully we’ll get further information.

Think it’s telling mind that Robins is the last manager with the next being head coaches to fit into the system.

Making more shit up? 🤣

It’s there for all to see. I don’t know what it is about the guy that has triggered people in the last few years, the resentment against him- despite him doing all that he did- is baffling. All the way to highlighting two words from a press conference and going off on one posting entire threads about a couple of words, then having a go at other people for “emotional ranting”.

The simple facts are that Robins turned around every bad situation he ever faced, ended up part of this new structure, but some people just ripped him apart no matter what he did over the years. Now we have a situation where the new guy has to finish 9th or above, or we will all know for sure it was a mistake. Or do the same ‘expectations’ Robins had not count for the new guy- we’ll see I guess.

He did, and I think he should have been given more time. I think he didn't help himself this season mind. All season he chopped and changed personal and tactics, I mean except for playing out from the back what else have we done consistently? One week we press from the front, the next week we sit back on the half way line, whilst also constantly changing the defence and keeper so they can't form an understanding. That isn't down to the structure that's completely on Robins plate.

Another emotional rant.

The resentment shown towards an interim manager (who didn't actually do too badly) has been much worse than anything I've seen robins get on here.

You are the undisputed forum number one for being obtuse and ranting, usually about things you clearly don’t really understand 😁

I am, to say the least, distinctly underwhelmed by the prospect of Lampard. I would much have preferred that we kept MR.

That said, it’s not the fault of whoever is appointed that MR was sacked. We must get behind the new man and give him our backing if we want to enjoy success.

I should fire up a few accounts to do it to get anywhere near you.

Not sure I've seen you comment on the actual resentment and personal insults towards Carr? You're too busy trying to overly exaggerate what people have said about robins like it's up there with punching his granny.
