Amongst the worst decisions in the history of Coventry City FC (6 Viewers)

We want to get into the Premier League and Doug has decided that Mark is not likely to get us there and therefore has made a change.

Whilst many of us don’t like to see Mark go i thought this analogy might help

We decide we want to trek through the Amazon jungle to a new destination. At the start of the journey we use a guide who hasn;’t been through the AMAZON before but he has successfully guided us through other jungles In the region.

After 2 years of trekking and millions in investment we were further away from the destination than when we started.

We therefore take the decision to swap guides to someone who has a track record of getting through the AMAZON specifically.

We feel disloyal to guide one who has been great to us on previous treks but does that make the decision to swap wrong ?
I know how this story goes……………………….:. Three years and 5 guides later he’s still lost in the trees

Mr King.
Do you realise what you just have done?
How long or hopefully short your tenure at our club is you will NEVER be forgiven for the ludicrous decision to sack Mark Robins.
Do you not realise what this man has done for our club and how much he means to the vast majority of the fans ?
Just look at the polls and dismiss the Johnnie cum latelies who wanted him out .
I for one want Mark back and you gone from our club forever.
PUSB

Agree 100%. King out. The club is full of cunts from top to bottom.

The more I sleep on this, the more furious I am about what King has done. Genuinely to the point where I feel like the club means less to me from this point on.

Robins saved us. Does no one remember the absolute shit show that was going on when he took over? Does no one remember how fucking brilliant the last 7 years have been? For him to be treated this way after what he’s done and for what? Fucking Frank Lampard or Robbie fucking Keane?

I don’t give a shit who the next manager is. I’d rather have continued the journey with Robins in the Championship than get promoted (highly unlikely) with someone else who probably doesn’t give a shit.

Doug King is a wanker.

Anyone who believes we've spent £50m is deluded. I'd say wait for the accounts. A lot of staged payments that are unlikely to be reached.

You also need to remember the reason we have those funds is because of the ill fated tour guide, the one who apparently doesn't know his way but got us to within a penalty kick of guiding us there.

Well Dabo's penalty nearly ended up in the Amazon basin tbf

Still gutted . Had every confidence that MR would turn things round as he had done on numerous occasions. DK visions of Grandeur and meddling will truly set us back. Of the list of candidates to replace him, maybe Moyes is the only one who could improve us, the rest are not fit to lace MR boots. We have lost some good people thanks to DK. Boddy, Vivash, Lawrence, Robins.
Unforgivable!!

Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

It’s not my opinion but it’s not ridiculous. A girl on Twitter got pelters for saying similar and explained it as she’s not arsed about the Prem but wanted to see Robins finish the journey. Now he’s gone she’s just not arsed about the Prem. Not every fan just wants to see us as high as possible, a lot care more about the day to day experience and a manager like Robins improves that as it’s a shared journey.

There’s been a lot of pretending not to understand or recognise the emotional and community aspects of supporting a football club on here recently in some weird Millennial masculinity virtue signal.

The is moronic

Mark would be the first to say the club is bigger than any individual.

It is possible to think that Mark was fabulous for the club over many years and be open minded about whether he had reached his ceiling or not as a manager.

Read this forum over the last 12 months, listen to the CWR phone in or podcasts and they are full of critique on what Robins was getting wrong, we were under performing our expenditure, inconsistent team selection, etc etc

Now he has been sacked that has been totally disregarded.

I would have given him more time but I can understand why DK didn’t.

Totally disregarded? By who? The fans?

we can’t do shit about it, what do you want us to do about it?

the man deserves a statue, but ultimately we support the club not individuals. We’re not going to go into 1 week mourning over football

Your missing my point

I’m saying a section of our fan base are over reacting to the decision.

The same fans who were criticising Robins week in week out now can find no reason to explain why he would be sacked.

Great, we are bigger than this as fans. Robins was good. But we have no choice but to move on. This is not SISU.

I'd like to add the lady who said this travels absolutely everywhere with the club and is what you would call part of our hard-core

It isn’t about masculinity, it’s about wanting your team to play at the highest level it can. In this hypothetical scenario wanting to remain stuck in this division just because of the manager is irrational.

You must of heard some fans of clubs like Sheffield united etc that say they prefer being in the championship ? I've heard it lots tbh

It's not what I want but I've heard it plenty

It’s a coping mechanism. Do Forest fans miss the decades of being outside the Prem and hopping between the second and third tiers? Are Luton preferring it now?

I've also heard it from Luton fans too tbh
Each to their own but to want a concrete ceiling for your own club makes no sense. Why would you not want to be playing at the highest level? I can’t understand that line of thinking.

I want promotion , I'm guessing some fans didn't like seeing their teams get twatted every week

I heard it years ago when we were in top flight from Bolton fans at a company up there we dealt with.

I really didn't understand it at the time but I do now even if personally it's not an outlook I agree with.
