@Saddlebrains can you clarify who put out certain information around matters around mourning, player's putting letters in etc?
I think the suggestion was it was more than one,Sheaf specifically was mentioned on here, what I'm asking really is from whose perspective did it come, and is it absolutely the truth,no mention of any trauma in their from King?

Are we referring to Robins mums death?

Is it not normal to play your attacking midfield marquee summer signing at left back?
This cracked me up 😂

On a serious note though, he was playing as a WB in the traditional sense. The shape was v much accounting for the fact that Rudoni was not a LWB i.e. the defence shifted across to cover for him. Against Middlesborough it was like a 4-4-2 out of possession and 3-4-1-2 in possession and it worked really well. The tactical idea was to pull off something like Saka at WB in the Euros for the 2 KO games.

Remember the situation with Ryan Giles when we had him on loan from Wolves. His loan was cancelled because McCallum was playing every game. We had a guy from Middlesborough 9/10 years ago too and they cancelled his loan for the same reason.
Wow McCallum was only 13 then, must have developed early!

Because it's a completely different skillset.

Look at some of the great players in recent times which attempted at becoming managers and were/are awful:
Paul Scholes
Gary Neville
Wayne Rooney
Sol Campbell
Alan Shearer
Paul Ince
Michael Laudrup
Steven Gerrard (much of his success at Rangers was down to Michael Beale)

There's a belief that their success on the field will automatically carry over off the field and the vast majority land on their face after a matter of months never to be seen in the managerial box again. It just doesn't work like that.
That's a myth.

And how’s that his fault exactly?

Not the managers job to balance the books.

It's quite often spoken about that portsmouth demise came after years of overspending under harry redknapp , I can't claim to know the ins and outs of derby's spending habits but it does happen after teams spend big , it also happened to Leeds?

I really hope it’s not Lampard. We can do so much better.
Don't be silly, he's amazing

Got Derby to the play off final against all odds on a shoestring budget, the got Chelsea 4th place with one of the worst squads in premier league history. He over performed at Everton, look at Mike Walker, no one could do a better job. Oh and his his Chelsea caretaker, he had to play the under 13s because the first team were holidaying in Marbella.

Genuinely can’t tell if this is sarcasm

It's not the managers job though?

If you wanna criticise Lampard talk about his second season at Chelsea, Everton stint etc.

Blaming him for Derby going into administration after he left is nonsensical :ROFLMAO:

No but contracts are usually given over a period of years and can obviously playa part in a clubs financial state .

As I said there are lots of examples of managers overspending and clubs falling away

Its all true, someone on twitter claimed he achieved 4th at Chelsea which hasn't been achieved since...

*Checks notes* oh except Tuchel who finished 4th and 3rd following him.

Every seems to be completely over exaggerating his success, and completely absolving him if his failures. Odd.

Even if he was just unproven I’d rather try someone that won’t come with a circus and try and be bigger than the club.
