How robins does elsewhere doesn't mean anything in relation to wether he was a good manager here .
Was our success due to Robins or was it actually Vivash? (13 Viewers)

I'd be even more worried if Lawrence, Vivesh, Robins and Boddy left!! But at least we still have Alec Williams - we should build the team around him!

Yes, without wanting to disrespect the OP the idea that Robins was just the face of Vivesh was clearly one that has been pushed over the last couple of days but the first 3 posts comprehensively answered this question and at least one of them was Robins out.
The disagreements stem from whether you believe that Robins was capable of recreating what we had before in the absence of Vivesh. I do, Doug and Nick apparently don't; but we will never know.

I’ll stand by my original thoughts on this - Robins was brilliant at dragging an extra 10% out of journeyman players.
there’s a reason Vivaesh was always a no2. They worked well together and it worked for Coventry City.
Robins has taken the flack because that’s what the manager does when it goes wrong. he also rightly takes the praise when it goes right. So for me I’m happy to pin all the success on him

I've got to admit, afrer last night and some info I've received today I think letting Robins go was the correct decision.
I think it's been handled badly, think it's dragged on longer than necessary and think some of the bullshit which people have swallowed didn't need airing but ultimately its the correct desicion.
I hope the new man insists on a clear out and his own team coming in.

Just stuff that was going on. I'm not putting it on here and there's nothing overly exciting or stuff people couldn't guess but I just think the damage has gone to far and will be difficult to repair so I think that's best left to the new man and his team.
King made some huge errors as well but ultimately he's the owner and going nowhere.

I posed this question a few weeks back, and was shot down in flames for being disloyal.. it does seem to me that things began to unravel once he left. But then again the entire structure has changed since so who knows!

Robins first stint although shortish was extra ordinary. Adi wasnt his assistant then. Robins gave us an insight of what hes capable of during his first stint.

They were a team, Robins takes overall credit and rightly so. Viveash deserves credit too but MR didn’t become a bad manager without him and of course, his first spell without AV was going well.

Really you can only look at Robins record with and without Adi. Clearly, together they were magic. Robins record before Adi was not the best and not completely dreadful, although he did leave clubs by the dreaded mutual consent on at least a couple of occasions. Adi had an awesome record with Chelsea and with us. He said he only ever wanted to be a number two here.
Robins was a great man manager but needed a top tactician like Adi. I agree with King on that point.
Lawrence was obviously good too but was only with the club for a couple of seasons.
As King wont have Adi back, perhaps he should sound out Lawrence. Unsure if Lawrence was good with Trinidad.

If Robins only played a bit part as many are trying to say then the others will go to.clubs and be an instant success with their new clubs.
We had a great run considering many will tell you Robins was poor at tactics and had nothing to do with anything else good at the club.

Robins had a win percentage over 50% in his first spell at our club without Adi Viveash.
Adi contributed to our success and I don't want to knock his accomplishments but which Coventry City managers have achieved a better win percentage since World War 2 than Robins achieved without Viveash?
Has anyone done better on that measurement of success?

To be fair, we did have David McGoldrick in the team who scored 16 goals in 22 games, who I believe was signed by Thorn before MR arrived.

So many factors isn't there. It's not as simple as if you are a good manager, you are a good manager anywhere.
We were in the top division for a good chunk of that time not lg2 and 1. Therefore using win% is pretty flawed as a comparative measure.

I think he is saying "small fish, big pond" for a lot of the time (top tier), then bigger fish, smaller pond during Robins' first tenure. Implying that the same management set-up would never have worked in the top league, therefore he wasn't the most successful post-war manager. At least, i think that's what he may mean!!!

King said we needed an elite tactician that we don’t currently have. He can hardly turn round and appoint Carr who was already on the coaching staff after that.
