Anyone else not going to be surprised if these two also leave the club?Think that’ll be the compromise tho, two come in and two go back. Leaving Rhys and George with the first team
Exactly, based on what he's saying, if he's telling the complete truth without misleading, he rates Robins, but because we couldn't find an assistant manager we had no choice but to sack a loyal, proven successful manager of 7 years (people are taking for granted how fucking rare that is), to just start again with a shit or bust gamble on a new manager and assistant/head coach and Director of Football.King doesn't know why a number two was never brought in..he conveniently skipped over that in his interview with talksport.
I don't trust King one little bit.
Don’t forget our stellar goalkeeping/defence coachThink that’ll be the compromise tho, two come in and two go back. Leaving Rhys and George with the first team
I would fully expect both to leave the club to be fair. I don't think Doug was too glowing of them in his press conference, and think if there's an opportunity for a full reset we'll do it.Anyone else not going to be surprised if these two also leave the club?
Edit: 100 pages. Wow.
Ah, I genuinely misread it, my badI didn't say it was you specifically
And it should be robins, people not 'robins people '
But you knew that FFS
Wonder if there’s any chance this has fallen through. Not saying it has but wonder what plan B would be
Yeah, fair enough. And ESB used the right word there too I think.King doesn't know why a number two was never brought in..he conveniently skipped over that in his interview with talksport.

There’s no rush at this stage, don’t think it makes much difference when he’s announced as long as it’s before next Wednesday.I would imagine there’s some non trivial discussions regarding a coaching restructure, transfer and wage budgets for January, likely targets etc etc to be ironed out.
Get it done right rather than quickly.
Who's Conor Chaplin?Remember the 100 page long Connor Chaplin thread? Yeah I don’t really either…
Who's Conor Chaplin?
It is because everyone wants everything immediately. Is there any credible hint of something going wrong?
Or is this feeling just down to the length of time it's taking?
Dire viewing innitThis was our league form since the Wolves win, I'd completely forgotten we had lost consecutive league games in the lead up to the FA cup semiView attachment 39629
Well yep and the squad was too small and the players were fatigued at the end of last season. This was our league form since the Wolves win, I'd completely forgotten we had lost consecutive league games in the lead up to the FA cup semiView attachment 39629
Inaccurate, we beat Leeds at home. Can't remember others, but that one at least is wrong. This was our league form since the Wolves win, I'd completely forgotten we had lost consecutive league games in the lead up to the FA cup semiView attachment 39629
I've corrected, still not great reading.Inaccurate, we beat Leeds at home. Can't remember others, but that one at least is wrong.
Last 3 from last season were nothing games, I remember I was surprised Ipswich didn't beat us more easily considering they needed the points so badly and we didn't. Ironically the last 4 games under Robins was our best period.I've corrected, still not great reading.

Exactly. They WERE nothing games.
You simply have to take that into consideration when doing a scrutinization and analysis of the result sequence.
The squad was too small, the players were exhausted and we had nothing to play for.
You have to take that into account.
100% agree.Exactly. They WERE nothing games.

I do get what you are saying, and I strongly agree Robins should be acknowledged by ALL as one of our greatest mangers ever.As soon as King did the supporters thing and pretty much slated Robins, so many on here took everything he said as gospel.
Immediately after that, the unpicking of Robins' achievements started.
It was we have been shit for 6 months. Then it was 9 months, even 12 months, then it was all down to Adi, not Robins etc.
People aren't trying to rewrite history, but they are also not taking into account all the circumstances. I.e. That we were running on empty at the end of the season and the poor form was very much linked to that.
I am not saying King lied, but I would also say I can't believe everything he said was the truth. Two sides and all that.
Anyway, people seem to have forgotten just how fatigued the players were and even though there was very little to play for, have focused on how crap we were at the end of the season. There is a clear correlation between the two.
I am most certainly not defending him to the end of the earth, but at times it's been a bit like a character assassination since King spoke.
Yeah, I do agree to a degree, but it's a well-known thing throughout football. That of running on empty, or already on the beachI do get what you are saying, and I strongly agree Robins should be acknowledged by ALL as one of our greatest mangers ever.
But I struggle with the running on empty excuses we continually hear with regard to the end of last season. These are professional sportsmen and they should be capable of playing this amount of matches. It really is not that exceptional. What seemed clear to me is they collectively didn’t have the mental strength to see out the season. Whether some had decided we couldn’t get into playoffs and were planning their beach breaks or whether some just did not have a winning mentality Or whether stuff going on in the dressing room had an impact, I don’t know, but I do know we should have finished stronger and had more fight.
So we have either recruited River Phoenix or Billy Ocean.View attachment 39632Looks like it’s on
This is elite sport. Of course they are all capable of playing this amount of matches. But, against other elite sports teams, the margins are so slim, and 1% less fatigue can make all the difference. When you have a fatigued Bobby Thomas running on empty against Hull 3 days after playing 120 minutes in the biggest game of his career, with no backup to replace him with, it's a miracle we only lost 3-2 against playoff rivals Hull. Losing that game pretty much ended our playoff hopes.I do get what you are saying, and I strongly agree Robins should be acknowledged by ALL as one of our greatest mangers ever.
