This will be typical -
They have been playing Hamer out of position on the left of their midfield three. Obviously he has been extremely good but less effective than his in the central position where he was the best in the championship for us.
Watch him play in the middle and absolutely ruin us tomorrow.....

2 foot him, tell him he's not Brazilian and didn't cost a million. Send him an email just before kick off saying he's banned from Samoan Joes.

Get in his head.

Didn't realise how good our home record was against them the last 10-15 years. Ironically, the only time they have won at Cov since March 2009 was the tennis ball game.
Good record against both Sheffield clubs at home. But we know what's happened already this season...

Was that the one where they sang SISU in and people lost their shit . People went on the pitch parading a banner and when the players came back out they scored?

Rhys Carr’s programme notes make for interesting reading.

‘View from the Afternoon:

Anticipation has a habit to set you up
For disappointment in matchday entertainment but
Today there'll be some goals
Today there'll be a ruckus, yeah, regardless of what's gone before
I want to see all of the things that we've already seen
I wanna see Kitching prove he’s the own goal machine
And van Ewijk unable to cross the ball back in
You've got to understand that you can never beat the parachute wankers no,

And Doug won't be surprised and he won't be shocked
When Norman hits the bar and Ben Sheaf says he’s crocked
And there's verse and chapter sat in his inbox
And all that’s said is that Robins spent the lot’

🎙️ Chris Wilder on Mark Robins

"First of all I'd like to pay tribute to Mark Robins and the work that he did at that football club. I've known Mark for a long time, when he was local at Rotherham United as well, it's an incredible batch of work that he's done at that football club and I think that will be recognised by everyone around the city and most importantly everybody at the football club. We all understand the journey he was on and where they were and the issues they had, financial issues, supporter issues and the tough journey that club has been on, to get them within a penalty kick of the Premier League and within an incredibly tight decision to an FA Cup final, the group he assembled. An owner makes a decision and Mark has lost his job. I think it's quite lazy for journalists to define someone's career over 10 games, I had that at Middlesbrough, his career won't be defined by 10 or 15 games at the start of a season. It'll be defined by the bulk of his work and the bulk of his work has been absolutely outstanding."

🎙️ Chris Wilder on Coventry City

"They've got a real talented group that should be higher in the league. I do believe that they're close to a decision so their players will know that a new man is coming in so maybe there will be an extra spring in their step, there shouldn't be because they should be consistent footballers as every group of players should be, but we all understand when either a new manager is in-situ or just about to be put in place that there's going to be a change. We're expecting the best Coventry City and if it's the best Coventry City they've got some really talented players and it's going to be a tough afternoon if we're not on it."

🎙️ Chris Wilder on O'Hare and Hamer returning to Coventry

"We've had a little bit of a chat about that. I'm not so sure Cal's going to get the reception that maybe he should get but knowing Callum I don't think that will upset him. Both players had fabulous contributions to that work and the rise of Coventry City under Mark.

Neither player should get any reception and hopefully neither will

You're talking about a crowd that includes people that sang the Doug King song and others who were on about jacking over the Robins sacking.

They'd react to any empty wotsit packet blowing along the side of the pitch.
In practice I think COH will likely get booed, probably not Hamer. It’s always fucking stupid to do it as the target just gets more pumped and motivated. Saw that already with Callum Doyle this season.

Shocked they haven't sold out.

Those £37 tickets are really damaging away numbers. Same as when Norwich came here, a club who would have sold 3000 if it was say £30

If Lampard is watching from the stand tomorrow (assuming he has been appointed Head Coach) let's give him a fantastic Coventry City welcome with a hearty rendition of 'You're fucking shit'.
That should make him feel good. Not.
The bloke has been nailed to the cross by some before he's been officially named.
Some sections of our fan base are no better than the rest of the other clubs.

2500 at £37 makes more than 3000 at £30 🤷🏻‍♂️

Depends how many they've sold. IIRC Norwich only had 1500 here. They would have probably sold at least another 1000 had it been £30.

If Sheffield United only have 2000 here, you start to lose a few quid. That's before you've factor in most away fans buying a pint or two.

Either way, both attendances were high. 28,000 even with general admission prices being expensive is very good. I doubt for tomorrow we'd had sold another 2000 if it had been £30.
