He's been great for the club.
I've never been a fan of the Ricoh, still not really, but the matchday experience is the best it's ever been as far as Im concerned and that's due to the improvements he's brought in.

He also seems to have made massive improvements commercially, so yeah, lots. But lots of mistakes as well, (and even on some of them he's been big enough to row back).

I'd imagine it's the same at most clubs, but they probably don't have loads of supporters who slavishly agree with every decision their owners make.

Fair play, agree with those things.

I've never said he's a terrible owner.
But I think he's made some mistakes and I'll criticise them as and when they occur.
Too much vitriol for someone who's just made some mistakes I'd say. Not just form you btw

I think if everyone is honest it's lashing out over robins

Don't they say anger is one of the stages of "grief"?

To be fair, that post is bollocks.
I've consistently criticised him, and praised him, where merited.

If you want to praise him for everything he does then crack on, that's up to you.

The vitriol I've aimed at him is deserved as far as Im concerned, but again, if you're happy yo be patronised then that's your perogative.

Lol who's be patronising? You or king?

Your whole post is defensive bollcoks. Anyone who even slightly disagreed with you is in the king fanclub and wants to praise everything he does

There are people who won't hear a word against him.
Post anything critical and they're straight in dismissing it. Its bizarre behaviour towards a club owner.
He's definitely got a fanclub. You'll find more praise of King from me than you will criticism of him from them.

I'll honestly keep an eye out for that from now on but so far since robins sacking I've seen more weird extreme tribalism from those that dislike king personally.

Well it's his most controversial decision yet and a lot of people don't agree with the,way he's handled the whole thing so it's obviously going to draw a lot more criticism.

If fans think the owner is a bellend for sacking a manager they don't think should have been then really that's what they think and that's that isn't it ?

Loads of fans didn't like Brian Richardson either , who cares

I have no issue with someone who says they hate him cos sacked robins. At least they are honest that they are emotional. It's those that trying to make out every move he makes as owner is bad that I'm talking about.

Loads of fans I spoke to Saturday think he's a twat tbh .. but whatever that's football

Not sure ever was gonna be a good way to end the robins era for any owner out there without him(robins) retiring with us

That said I agree he pulled the trigger bit too soon and now fans will always wonder could he have turned it around

There definitely wasn't going to be.
King must have known that. But because he's so thin skinned he had to go running to the CET and dougsplain the history of the club to the support.

He should have just ignored the noise, concentrated on getting the new man in and letting things settle down naturally

Maybe. But then we would have pages and pages of threads about Doug king and his forced coaching staff tbf

So be it. That's us on here, King shouldn't be concerning himself with this forum, other forums or social media.
I agree but at same time I don't wanna be angry about something that might not be true.

So owners explaining decisions are welcome imo. If I ever have reason or evidence to suspect he's lying ill obviously take what he says with pinch of salt. Already do somewhat but but don't think he's a compulsive liar right now or anything like that

If fans hadn’t reacted with exaggerated outrage and a million conspiracy theories that may have been possible.

In his defence there have been lots of conspiracy theories

King already hatched plan with redknapp to hire lampard before sacked robins

Didn't allow robins a assistant

Won't hire ampard to protect his record

Forced shit coaches on robins

Maybe 1 of the above is true with the assistant as some blurryness there. Rest absurd or been shot down

Meanwhile you have shmee saying king ripped up the best football infrastructure in British football pyramid under sisu

So maybe you can see it from my pov too?

And there are 2 on there that I'm pretty certain have some legs and the rest I think are nonsense.

But it's not about your POV my point is people constantly jumping to his defence.
Which is fine, but it's no surprise I refer to them as his fanclub!

And King really shouldn't be responding to shit like the stuff you've listed if that is indeed why he went to the CET, (I've no idea what prompted it).

He had to address those things though.

People were starting to get carried away. That could easily develop into people calling for boycotts, negative chanting in the ground, reduction in income etc.
That wouldn’t be in the interests of the club.

He’s made a controversial decision. Time will tell if it’s the right one or not

None of that though would yet qualify him as a bad owner

I think you're exaggerating where it would have all lead to to be honest.
But I'm not disputing he should have addressed those issues. But the song and dance he's made about it is ridiculous.
Live broadcast fans forum, big CET spread dougsplaining the clubs history.
He's gone well over the top and still hasn't really pulled the people who disagree with him onside. I think he's badly misread the room.

Don't get me wrong, it will settle down, but it would of anyway, I think he's created unnecessary drama personally.

Sadly, in Doug King we have the worst of all worlds, a ruthless businessman (you have to be to get to his position) with no football knowledge who is 100% in charge and is therefore reliant on “advice” from Underling Advisors too afraid to challenge.

A great example is the Lampard fiasco:

DK says to one of his underling advisors “my mate knows Lampard, says he’s great, what do you think?”

Underling advisor replies “er, yes he’s great Doug, just like you”, despite really thinking, “really, why would anyone go for someone with such a terrible managerial record”.

And so, there we are, the Lampard era begins.

You have just made that scenario up though?

I dunno I seem to remember you and Evo acting like the fans were so angry and uprising was on the way after I said people will move on quickly.

Also it's not coming to his defence. Imo it's calling out crazy anti king views.

It's nothing personal anyway

Fans were angry, everyone I knew who watches City was fuming.
Don't know where you get the idea about an 'uprising' though. That's just nonsense.

It's not crazy to come to his defence if you think he's right, (same as its not crazy to criticise him if you think he's wrong), but it is weird to agree with him on everything and defend him on everything, often twisting what your fellow fans are saying to suit your agenda (I appreciate that's not exclusive to Kings fanclub)

There’s some people that are ultra defensive of DQ just because he’s not SISU. For some, he could blow up a care home and it would be for the good of the club or to ‘protect the future drive to the premier league’.

I and many others, don’t like the condensing way he acts to supporters and he tied himself it knots over the assistant manager angle… anyone with an IQ higher than a moth could tell that he was on the ropes.

DQ thew everyone under the bus including the existing coaching team and was only defensive about Dr Claire who is just a faceless name who helps sleeping patterns.

Dickhead Doug got very lucky that CWR asked such poor questions, far better questions came from the floor.

He has made multiple decisions that are questionable and some he has had to backtrack on… and that’s just the decisions that we see as consumers, the tip of the iceberg.

Doug is lucky it’s only him and some nobody we have never heard of on the board or there would be a vote of no confidence coming.

DQ should sell up and go back to rapeseed.

Really don’t think Doug can win in this scenario to be fair.

Sacking Mark would turn anyone into a villian and then you have all the crap about coaches and behind the scenes, he probably feels backed into a corner.

Whether he should of made a statement, I don’t know as feel some people don’t want to listen and that’s fair enough considering who Mark is to this club and generation of fans.

How is it balanced? It reads like an Executive Summary and how good old Doug’s project is the saviour.

The first 2/3s of the article is telling us all about the history of the club from foundation to the dark place we were in - like none of us didn’t experience the administration, SixField and St Andrews days. Shockingly bad.

The final line or two is really troubling:
‘He knows how much I wanted this to work with him and the sadness I feel that it did not’.

Robin’s beat every goal set of him and delivered earlier than expected on the Play Off Push. Before Robins, we hadn’t been in any play offs, in any league!

To say it did not work with Robins, is a little potshot and not frankly true, for all of us that have been behind the club for longer than 2 years.

Doug is an egotistical, narcissistic c**t that has fucked up every decision he has come across. The connection between fans and players and staff is gone and now it feels like the club is full of cunts. Doug Queen Out.
Not a King fan. His business acumen seems fine. His footballing decisions are going to be where he will be lauded or crucified. Like others, having experienced all the disastrous changes of managers over the years, I am somewhat concerned.

Why does an owner give a long standing successful manager the target of reaching the play offs 3 times in 5 years then sacks him early doors in the 3rd season with a record of 1 out of 2 in the previous 2 seasons? Will the 3 in 5 target be reset whenever a new manager is announced? Will next seasons new kit be released before the new manager announcement?
