Like fine milk
I don’t think they worked on da silva getting caught ball watching again or Collins getting lobbed on his goal line in training, tactics spot on first half, da silvas mistake first min in to the 2nd half against a team that doesn’t concede, can’t blame Carr for that

5 game run in December

hull
Portsmouth
Plymouth
Millwall
Cardiff

that’s where we need to get wins under our belt
This is why we’re being in Lampard after this stretch of games… 😂

Joking aside, it’s a good opportunity for the new manager to get off to a flying start.

We can play that team again but Dovin for Collins and Rudoni for Palmer quite easily.

Rudoni is crap as a ten in that system. Sheaf is half the player he was last year as well.

I don’t think ten on the edge of your area and Bassette five miles away is spot on tactics TBH. Neither was leaving one up and five ATB against ten men.

People want Robins to have been the issue and Carr to have been some amazing coach being frustrated but the entire reason robins is gone is because Carr and the like were given responsibility for the coaching by Robins and weren’t good enough.

We’ve had two average and one poor performance with the same frailties (conceding two a game!). We need fresh blood.

Didn’t Robins sign off on these coaches by his own admission and indeed King in the conference where he ‘threw MR under the bus?’

At least with Lampard, he seems intent on restructuring the entire coaching setup (again).

I was watching the game with a Burnley fan and he was slightly impressed with us. His dad who was at the game rated MVE and Simms of all players.

It’s been a tough run to be fair. Luton, Derby, Boro, Sunderland, Sheff U and Burnley is a run most teams would come away with less points than our 8 points.
Ay? Simms?

He supports Burnley and Simms won a few headers which probably endeared him to the Clarets in attendance.

Just a guess, this was my flatmate’s dad who was at the game so I could interrogate that any further.

We looked a bit flaccid, Bassette’s positioning wasn’t great and as Iwelumo said on co-commentary, wasted a lot of energy chasing lost causes.

We miss Haji Wright.

All the talk tonight on here about needing a CB,LB ,CM as priority in January yet when we were flying last season the team was :
Collins
MvE
Thomas
Kitching
Bidwell
Sheaf
Eccles
Palmer/O'Hare
Wright
Simms
Sakamoto

For me it's glaringly obvious the position we haven't adequately covered ?
I get where (I think) you are coming from and I do think we miss Palmer and O'Hare but I think a flat midfield 3 of Eccles - Sheaf - Rudoni should work.

For me the glaring issue is that Kitching has disappeared and we have replaced him with both Binks and Lati. Injuries to Bidwell, Sheaf and Sakamoto and attackers sitting on bench have shown how badly skewed squad depth is.

Back to the thread, interestingly betting markets have reopened after a spell of being closed as it seemed a done deal. Lampard is still favourite but Eustace down to 10/3.

Good meltdown potential if he isn’t announced tomorrow and we go into Saturday with no manager still

Oooh it’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎵 Happy to have a game of SBT meltdown bingo. Full house for the following:

Not wanting to sound dramatic but I'd be pissed off if we lost any of them

3 wins 2 draws absolute minimum, has to be
The new manager is going to need to try some new things to fix our problems and inevitably some won’t work. I don’t see us going through these games unbeaten.

The “Robins had turned the corner with this team and was fired too soon” merchants pretty quiet now.

We look a mile off a top 6 team right now.

Please no. Mason Mount had already had a good loan spell at Vitesse before going to Derby, and Harry Wilson and Tomori had both had two previous loan spells before going to Derby on loan. I can't remember the last decent loan that had come to us as their first loan spell. Its a complete waste for a January transfer window.

This is a good point.
