We're consistently conceding 2 goals per game Pete.
If that doesn't stop very soon then we are in a relegation battle.
The only other way to look at it is we'll be OK because we'll soon start scoring more than 2 a game. Which is the more likely scenario?
Oh I agree was just trying to manage everyone’s bi polar issues

It was Robins that was responsible for bringing them to the club . King can only have formed that opinion based on what he had been told by Robins and Austin as he has freely admitted that he didn't know much about football
So a man who owns the club can’t be held responsible for the players he brings in? In addition to that, he also can’t be held accountable for publicly saying he thinks the squad should be in the top 6. Your logic is that Robins must have told him that, so King has every right to trust his footballing opinion and repeat it to the public as his own opinion after sacking the man who told him it haha.

It’s like watching a 5 a side team. Lots of intricate passing, backwards and forwards, sideways and backwards again. All in areas that are not hurting teams.
We play all our best stuff in the middle third of the pitch.
When we do create chances, they are not quite falling right or falling to the wrong man.
EMC…….Jeez he’s poor, struggles to even stay onside. BTA…..another who is never gonna be consistent.
We are desperate for Wright up front now.

Wright? Who this time last season was getting slagged like EMC (who has looked much better recently)

Do we ever learn no to make judgements too soon?

He isn't.

The stat websites have him performing very similar to previous seasons. It's just we are losing more games so it's a bit more obvious. A lot has not changed.

The most overrated player for Coventry I have seen in twenty years. Yet, twenty million some say? Absolutely hilarious. Get him gone. We'll win nothing with him as captain.
Nope, have to disagree. Been many a game in the past where he has simply looked the best player on the pitch.

Not showing it now though.

This isn't the Sheaf at his best

He looks like we rushed him back too early and he's really suffering now.

There have been times though especially parts of last season when he has been absolutely wonderful.

EMC appeared to overwork the ball, individually looks good on the CV but not helpful for the team game.
Torp got bumped around and off the ball too much, and for god sake briñg Kai in to start, and find out if he's got anything about him,, purple patch for MVE for about 3minutes where he had a productive spell, well Clive made it sound so, I hope Burroughs has been keeping his fitness up, solid trier, don't give me rubbish that he isn't up to it!

Thought we played ok last night but yet again lost 2-0 to a team that hardly threatened. Collins doesn’t inspire confidence at crosses etc, the back four looked pretty solid until the CBs (and midfield) fell asleep for their second. Bidwell certainly offered more than JDS (at the back if not going forward). Midfield just isn’t working at the minute (sheaf I’m sure must be playing through injury, Eccles has had a good season but last few games has been off the ball and redoni only really contributed when he moved to the rt wing). Up front EMC couldn’t get into the game, sakamoto had some good movement and touches and did steadily improving but not at last seasons level. Bassette is young, naive and will develop but is not a starter yet at this level.
As for the subs…Simms’ first touch has not improved but he does need a good run of games, BTA (can’t see he adds anything) runs around, Torp looked tidy but couldn’t change anything.

WBA looked average and yet didn’t really have to exert themselves…1 lucky deflection early on meant they could control the game in key areas. Their keeper game them confidence from corners and although we threatened on a few occasions he had a pretty easy night.

It was a game we shouldn’t have lost but honestly once we went one down never looked like getting anything.

Lampard (and coaches) have a lot to do. The next three games (at least on paper) are winnable but we all know how that story goes. But if we are not to end in a relegation battle the manager, coaches and team have to ensure we get seven points minimum (but really all 9).

9 corners we had yesterday 3 ish dint beat the 1st man and I don’t think any realy worked the keeper
This was particularly frustrating. Our corners seem to just be lump it in and hope for the best, which only has a hope of working if the delivery is good.

Millwall did not have a single shot on target.
We know what happens when teams do.
(The one they did - went in - but was obviously disallowed)
Big ask to try to limit teams to zero shots on target. Credit to the outfield players on this occasion.
Apart from the previous game where we kept a clean sheet.

Don't get the love for Bidwell
He criminally let their guy in for the 1st by just backing off and backing off
Did it again and again at least Dasilva gets a challenge in
He did back off. He was shit scared of him. A good side would of targeted that but West Brom are so very negative.

Why do you think kai should start? He's hardly changing the fortunes of the U21's so why would he do it in the first team?

Also I repeat what I said previously . You seriously expect King to come out and say the players are shit and nowhere good enough for the top 6 ?
Get real.

It's the signings under discussion not the fitness levels. Anyway who was it who initially told King about player fitness levels or was that his opinion ?
Nobody knows

Think the general point isabout trusting what's said in the media.
I agree with you when you say King couldn't say anything but this is a top 6 squad at the forum but some posters want to take everything asgospel when it suits.
I would also say that if he's been fed incorrect information regarding fitness then he needs to look into that

Bidwell is without doubt the most over rated player on this forum. He gets away with so much that Dasilva gets absolutely hammered for.

Left back has to be the main priority in January.

Agree completely. Personally I have serious doubts regarding a number of the King appointments and I guess that we will never know how much influence he had in selecting them or whose advice he was following . Problem for me is that the key appointments appear to be bad ones ( specifically Austin and Boateng) .

I was happy with the lineup last night apart from Lati who I would've put Binks on in place of and Collins who is poor.

Usually as follows

EMC has been great since Lampard gave him a run
Bassette is a horrible little git, who is just the sort of person you want on your team and not against.
Tats, we know what he can do, turn a man inside out and create something from nothing.
Rudi can unlock any team when he wants
Eccles just does well and sprays a lovely ball out Scholes like at times
Sheaf solid
Bidwell - gets forward and gets crosses in
Lati - no thanks
Thomas is maturing some of his defensive runs are astounding but can make silly mistakes
Van the man, his overlap play, crossing and shooting is just what we need.

Last night

EMC looked lost and was on his heels all the time
Bassette is a horrible little git, who is just the sort of person you want on your team and not against. Tired from pressing with no help.
Tats didn't take a single man on and made the simple pass 90% of the time.
Rudi just really poor, some of his corners were shocking
Eccles poor decisions, poor passes
Sheaf didn't exactly fill me with confidence, I don't think we heard a shhhhheeeeeaaaffffff all night.
Bidwell just not his usual attacking self and backed off far too much
Lati - no thanks
Thomas made some brilliant tackles but passing was poor
Van the man couldn't tackle, pass or dribble well all night.

We had an off night all over the pitch, it looked as though they're still all learning the new tactics but had all been told to play safe and not use their natural talents. I would've happily changed anyone on the pitch apart from Bassette last night. I think Lamps made good changes at the right times, I like Torp but Assante and Simms don't seem to have the ability to change a game at the moment. It'll come good I'm sure but it was really frustrating watching good players perform poorly.

You'll all be eating your words about EMC this time next year, there's a quality player in there needing a run of games and a bit of freedom to find his feet at this level.

He's backing off as he's trying to show him line and not overcommit himself allowing to the player to cut onto his favoured left foot. He's also in the box, so doesn't want to over commit himself and give away a penalty. His backing off worked as the lad does cut in on his right foot and Bidwell blocked the shot. Bidwell did his job there.

Does he bollocks. He can actually defend for a start

He does. By all means give Dasilva stick when he fucks up, he deserves it. Just be consistent with it. Bidwell is totally immune from criticism by some, it's really weird. He was at fault for a few goals at the start of the season which seems to have been forgotten about.

Their bloke got the ball out on the touchline for their 1st
He was allowed to run in to the area unopposed and set up the goal
Yeah but he tried to send him down the line and didn't want to give a penalty away, give me strength🙄

Sorry, can't have that JB was at fault for that 1st goal last night. ultimately blocked cross, then from the freeze frame of Mowatt striking ball - we were well populated, engaged enough on mowatt and his shot was not going to trouble Collins.

To concede from that position was so unlucky, we were staying narrow and flooding middle of pitch. Doesnt always have to be blame of someone - its was just so unlucky for us.

We actually defended better up until 70 mins - thereafter felt we gave up and became ragged

To biggest issue last night, amongst a few was the inability to take our chances. Thats cost us.

Don't agree with a lot of the above. We actually score quite a few, only 6 teams have scored more goals than us this season. It feels like we don't score many because we create an insane number of chances.

Our issues are at the back. Only time we manage to keep a clean sheet is when the opposition is limited to basically no shots on target - usually because we've dominated the midfield areas. As soon as opposition teams have a sniff at goal, they score. It needs to be addressed now, we're so pathetic at the back it's like xmas all year round for anyone who plays us.
