7 points from 4 and no manager bounce?

Seriously?

Over a season that’s the autos almost

He's clearly making an impact

I think those that say it's no different to robins say it because they want to pretend no manager cns make it work and the squad is terrible

It isn't. It's a good squad missing few key additions. Those key signings stop us from getting autos or possibly playoffs but we do not need them to stay up. We're not in a Relegation battle

The futures bright under lampard for me. I like what I am seeing

Robins got 7 points from his last 4 games so presumably you didn't want him sacked as he was showing autos form.

Thet was kind of my point actually. If we’d not won today the robins social club would be all over it.

Kasey was amazing today wasn’t he. We really miss him.

To be honest, I haven't really noticed much difference.

It may be he's making one behind the scenes and we'll see an improvement in the long term (which is what we want), but there's no point making comment at the moment.

Also...

Two promotions, several trips to Wembley, dragging us up from League Two to within a few kicks of the Premier league - 'taxi for Robins'

7 points from 4 games - 'this is a new dawn'

Strange thing is he never won you over so much you’d actually go to many games

Today I saw someone consistently dropping in behind a fullback when they advanced (usually Sheaf) and us managing a game out in the corner of the opposition half. The latter being something I haven’t seen us do for years.

It’s different and I hope this continues and we get a bit more composure in front of goal. I still think we need a couple of players in Jan.

No it wasn't. You didn't think to check how many points Robins got in his last 4 games and it's made you look daft.

Yeah I did as the rivisionist argument was that robins was showing the same form after his last 6 games - as long as we excluded the Derby game. So actually I’m excluding the West Brom game and now we are winning the league

I’ve liked Lampards approach so far. Combine that with 7 points and it is a good start. I don’t think we’re really playing any better and found a way to concede today against a woeful side. But it’s not his squad so he has to squeeze something from what he’s got.

I still think with a couple additions the team will push on .. there is plenty of talent in the squad

While we were behind you were bemoaning this team like many others. The result turns around and it’s the start of a new dawn.

Make your mind up!

Plenty of talent but the issue has been a bit of grit and fight. They finally showed it in the latter stages of the game today.

The thing for me is that although the depth of the squad is as strong as it’s been for a long time, the starting 11, whichever we choose, is not as strong as the starting 11 in either of the last two seasons, and possibly over the last 3 seasons. Not surprising I guess, as we’ve lost 3 top quality players and a strong leader on the pitch, since the play-off final defeat. So we do need some new players in key positions, I would say that in particular, we need a creative player in midfield who can open defences up.

Lampard is having a good impact on the squad and they clearly buy into his methods. This Xmas to new year period will be the making of our season because we’ve got 4 winnable games. My optimism is that Lampard as a big name will bring in players we otherwise wouldn’t have attracted under Robins.

Let’s not kid ourselves because our defending is just not good enough. First and foremost, this needs addressing in the January transfer window. Secondly, we need a midfielder who carriers the ball in midfield because the only players who this tend to be Binks and Thomas from CB to beat the press.

I’m optimistic Lampard can turn this season around because he has good coaches around him and a bit of brand recognition to attract those ‘next level’ calibre players.

That all said, I did believe MR could turn things around, even if it’s irrelevant because he’s come and gone now.

Spot on. Movement off the ball was a lot better and there were clear patterns of play for once. Also, game management was good - Rudoni especially who usually drives me mad.
