Is this an expected thing now, do they have this level of security in Broadgate for example?

I don't know about Broadgate, but there will be *some* measures in place. At Warwick Uni, the potential "crowded spaces" are designed in consultation with Counter-Terrorism police to reduce the possibility/impact of vehicle attacks. It's all very subtle but very effective, i understand.

There was one in Brum a couple of years back wasn’t there outside a club too?

I wonder if these people show up on anything before or just flip out. Not sure what you can do to stop someone flipping out in a car. Other than build everything terrorist proof but fuck that quite frankly

And was already disqualified from driving. The fact that after whatever the initial argument was he must have gone back to his car, thought it over and decided this was a good idea somehow makes it even more horrific.

The problem now is that this is becoming such a regular occurrence that it's not even huge news or surprising. Shrug and move on. Sad times and a horrible world we live in.
