I was told the loan approach had been rebuffed. Perhaps this is what the hold up is with incomings is, maybe they are pushing for a loan to buy obligation? I suppose a lot will depend on whether Lampard now sees him as a starter.
Guess we’ll see soon on the later. Weirdly probably our best CB on the ball so you’d think Lampard would favour him however barely played. Still get the impression Lampard is still weighing up parts of the squad

Would be surprised if King sanctioned a cut price deal for Kitching.

You'd think he'd look to recoup the majority of what was initially paid.
Not going to happen is it, if anyone offers more than £2.5 mill you would jump at it if he's really deemed surplus to requirements.

Alternative if we don't play is sending him out on multiple loans and letting him leave for free when his contract expires

Me too. I think he is now finding his own feet and disregarding in-house advise from his first few weeks hence why Dovin, Bidwell and latterly Kitching have come in to reckoning. Obviously Collins and JDS did themselves no favours and accelerated their dropping

Yeah, I would have like to see him get a run in the team, but that's just personal opinion and from what we had available. He has finally played him for 90 mins, so maybe he is still trying to figure that out. Only they will know.

Blackburn are only gonna want Kitching on loan, not sure that really makes sense for us
Unless he can be recalled any time and we bring in someone like Holding as he goes out.

If most of the players want out you can see why they stopped playing for Robins after his comments about Agents early on, considering Pre-Season we looked the real deal. Bunch of pricks I'd sell 90% of that squad and start again.

Can't Dean Austin offer them Binks. 😁

The fact it’s the 9th January and the only rumoured activity is outgoings should alarm everyone
Not really, the club anti leak policy is pretty watertight.

Only players i'd entertain letting leave in this window;

Collins
JDS
Allen
Tavares

One of Lati/Kitching (but honestly i think we should keep both until the summer)

We aren’t going down and we aren’t going up.

Don’t see the damage in allowing players who don’t want to be here and/or make us profit leaving now.

It gives FL the chance to get 1/2 in now and know what he’s working (squad and money wise) with in the summer. Also means players who are going to be here next season get definite game time and become more used to FL and the way he wants to play.

Let’s be honest we need a re-build so the sooner the better.

However, it’s absolutely shite we’re in this position. High hopes at the start of the season seem like a distant memory.

Put this earlier in the thread and the more I read, the more I stand by it.

It’s an absolutely bizarre, frustrating and incredibly poor situation we find ourselves in, where there’s clearly (and once again confirmed by ITK’s) underlying issues in the squad. Its a mess in every sense; attitudes, performances, confidence etc.

We need (another) significant re-build it seems, so let people go now if it’s guaranteed money. FL will know what he has to play with and start building from this window, even if historically it’s not a great time.

It’ll give us a jump start on next season if we start to assemble the team FL wants now.

With the obvious caveat, he is allowed to replace any outgoings.

I think the problems started when we had a mass clear-out post the playoff final. Something like 11 or 13 players left or left go. That's a huge churn. Perhaps a more little by little approach would have been better, improving certain positions as we went rather than building a whole new team.

I don’t know. There’s clearly issues but so much is gossip framed in a specific way rather than facts. Hard to take too seriously.

Replacing 3 of your 4 CBs in January doesn't strike me as a recipe for a more stable back line.
No I've said that too, I think it's dangerous. But player for player it's a no brainer. Won't happen anyway.

Biggest summer balls up was signing BTA instead of a CM . The urgency of the CM issue was obvious to virtually everyone with the exception of those responsible for recruitment and final purchase decisions.

Sorry to say but that's down to Mark Robins. 🙈
