Yeah I'm sure Lampard took the job being told this is your lot, it's a top 6 deck and you have no money to spend.

What part of due to sheaf injury now cm is priority can you not grasp?

we haven’t got funds to cover both positions unless players go out

Tbf, it was an odd position to prioritise even before the Sheaf injury. RW was probably 5/6th on the list after: CM, CB, RB, LB and then maybe RW.

I don’t get this. Clearly we padded the squad with four keepers. We can just remove a couple?

Also U21s like Bassette and Rapha don’t count.
Sorry for repeating myself but Bassette and Rapha do count towards the 25 man squad. This is because they are not classed as a home grown players. They have not been at any club affiliated to the FA for required length of time.

What qualifies as home grown, club developed and under-21 in the EFL?

For a player to be considered home grown by the EFL, they don't necessarily need to be British (they can be any nationality) or to have been trained by that specific club.

All that is required to qualify as home grown is to have been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the FA of Wales for at least three seasons or 36 months prior to their 21st birthday (or the end of the season they turn 21). We can't see anything to say loanees are excluded from counting as home grown players.

Their definition of 'Under 21' this season is very simply defined as 'any player born on or after January 1 2004'.

It’s not hard to believe we have no money. We operate on huge losses. We’ve spent a % of what we generated in transfers. King isn’t a mega wealthy owner. But we do have the Gyokeres issue bubbling away and if we move a couple on for cash we’d get a % of that. I guess most clubs are similar. It’s a sequential process.

You’re confusing home grown with U21.

From your post:

“Their definition of 'Under 21' this season is very simply defined as 'any player born on or after January 1 2004'.”

So fair Rapha wouldn’t as he’s Sept 2003, but Bassette would as he’s Nov 2004.

Clubs must have 8 homegrown players (one rule)

U21 players do not count towards the 25 (a different rule)

Thanks for the poo emoji though just for having basic reading comprehension. IMG_2745.jpeg

The reason we aren’t signing players is because we don’t have space in the squad guys!! Even though we have 4 goalkeepers in it at the moment as well as Tavares and we can de register players from the squad any time we like.

its totally not due to the fact that Bling is skint

The EFL rulebook just hates Doug King!

How long has Bassette been registered under the FA? Less than 3 years, so he counts.
I can read thanks. Can you understand basic rules or and are you able to read basic English?
The football club and the FA class Bassette as a member of the squad of 25, but it's OK shmmeee says he doesn't count
Please show me some evidence, which shows me where Bassette doesn't count towards the 25 man squad

Doesn't nearly every Championship club operates on a loss? Below extract from Deloitte Annual Report of Footie finance 2024..
Championship clubs’ net debt The net debt of Championship clubs in 2022/23 reduced slightly to £1.6 billion (2021/22: £1.7 billion). Only two clubs reported positive net funds (Sunderland £2m and Swansea City £3m). Meanwhile five clubs reported net debt in excess of £100m, compared to eight in 2021/22. The small fall in net debt levels amongst Championship clubs in 2022/23 can be primarily attributed to the change in club mix. Whilst there were a variety of ups and downs, the net debt of the 18 consistent clubs increased by c.£55m to £1.3 billion.

That page is blocked by my network security I’m afraid. I’ve already shown you the fucking EFL handbook.

You started with the shit emojis fucktard I just replied in kind. No one asked you to make yourself look a twat on the Internet.

You are now confusing player registration with the Squad List

Maybe stop letting your weird political hang ups decide whether you believe someone or not.

Just got past my firewall. We have registered Bassette as over 21. Frankly that just shows Doug King is as thick as your average thick internet poster. This is like when he thought we had to give more to the away end than we did.

Excuses now. Page is blocked. Look it up yourself then. Go on Efl website and type in Efl squad list season 2024/25. Then look for Coventry City squad. It lists the players and says weather they are home grown. Then it lists our u21s.

Don't post here that often, because of twats like you. Get your head out your arse and stop making excuses that your incapable of seeing the official squad list, which will prove your wrong about Norman Jaquy A Van Anker Bassette
