We are half way through the transfer window and nothing doing.
I’m waiting and holding my breath but hope is fading on transformational signings.
Looks like more of the same until the summer!
we clearly aren't "doing nothing"

Which bombshell, Patterson or BTA?
I've just messaged him and asked him about Patterson. He's not mentioned him before.

As for the BTA to Blackburn bid, that's come completely out of left field as far as i know. He never mentioned anything, but obviously knew about the loan approach for Kitching from them.
I would have thought if anyone were to come in for BTA it would be Stoke as he was a Robins signing and they have just lost Cannon haven't they?

Robins needs a striker asap as you say. Would make more sense.

I don’t think he really wanted to leave WBA in the first place. All because of FFP issues. It’s been a disastrous move for him.
I feel for him. He would have came because of the long time talks he had with MR.

He, like others have been chopped and changed / played out of position so many times this season, i think it has in reality knocked his confidence. His work rate can't be faulted, but he's often asked to play out of position, and players are either gifted enough to do that instantly, or not.

We could all see what playing EMC on the right did for him, and now look.
I think Lampard needs a version of the squad that is his own to some degree. Perhaps offloading a few will enable him to stamp his own identity by bringing a few of his own choices in.

Maybe MR could use him as you said, they are in need.

Paterson last seen playing in the MLS reserve leagues after failing to break into the squad of the 5th worst team.

Bloody hell I hope this is just for fitness.
Can just picture lampards interview, “ ok I’ll take the Job on the condition that I can bring in the players I want, there’s a lad in the MLS reserve league who’s exactly what we need “

if you’ve gone for Lampard surely got to give him the quality players to work with,

Indeed. Lampard needs a squad he’s moulded and that means players need to move on and he brings in his own. I’ve said this before but this window is the start for him. So if we can shift players to fund new ones then so be it. We just need the right balance.

Very true, just the start for him.
Completely agree, two or three new ones can make all the difference carrying through to the summer, as it gives us new identity and unpredictability, especially when EMC and Wright return.
I think we are all in agreement that if that means moving a couple of fringe players on then they are within their rights to stick them up for sale.
I would suggest Tavares will go this window.

JP gets 7 goals and 6 assists last season.

Torp isn't getting close to that.

It's not as bad as being made out. He's a Cov kid who supports the club. Not a bad thing when one of the regular moans this season is about how the players don't care and how they are lacking experience and confidence.

Even if we signed him till the end of the season, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. To say ‘we’re fucked’ because we’re looking at him is a massive over exaggeration.

Back in 22/23 we signed Maguire to fill the squad up and he played a few games. Didn’t add much value (if any) but he served a purpose.

Not quite the signing it would e been years ago but is fine as a stopgap to the summer and if he proves his worth, an extension.

Probs be in the minority but I’d start Paterson over torp if he came in

A few saying BTA hasn’t had a chance. How many games would you give him as a starter if this is the case? He’s started a few recently and you could argue he cost us five points with relatively straightforward misses v Cardiff and Norwich. Harsh maybe but definitely chances that were there for the taking. Sometimes things don’t work out and it seems prudent now to sell him and wish him good luck rather than hoping he will come good while moving through a four-year contract.
