Dean Austin position untenable (22 Viewers)

You making up things.

How is it impossible that King wanted a head of recruitment when the job was done by Robins until the takeover?
What are you on about now? 🤣 Robins wasn't head of recruitment 🤣

For a role like Badlan's I suspect he would've had to give sufficient notice if he wanted to leave, at least a month, possibly more.

So the process of searching for his replacement would've probably begun some time before the announcement of his departure, and likely before DK had any kind of say in what happens behind the scenes.

My problem is I fear for our near future. I'm sure Austin was a King appointment. The dates all tally up.

In a short amount of time we've gone from stability to nearly everyone out. We've gone from improving our league position every season to finishing lower each season. This season we all knew we didn't have a balanced squad. We're now closer to a relegation battle than flirting with the playoffs. We're only 8 points off 24th. We're gifting goals for fun.

Many seem to be OK with this. I'm not. We've become also rans in such a short amount of time after spending a large amount of money. The pot is now dry.

The hell are you on about. You are fearing stuff you have made up 🤣🤣🤣

Robins was literally waxing lyrical over Austin, just accept that maybe he made bad decisions and got recommendations wrong FFS.

Mehhh... I can't see Austin going and no restructuring is going to occur till the close season. Then the issue is who is going to become the Sporting Director, Austin and Round are in contention, there may be other candidates from left field, but if Austin moves into that position the club needs a new head of recruitment. My gut feeling is DK will appoint an external candidate and whoever that is will be assessing performance of other football senior managers. Meanwhile please, please can the recruitment team get someone in to bolster the squad. 🤞

Whether or not King signed Austin is irrelevant, the fact is that he’s still here and his opinion is clearly well respected by King as we seen at the fans forum. King could quite easily have released him along with Robins and Boateng but instead has him by his side.

I personally believe Austin has become more influential in Kings decision making as time has past although I don’t know that for certain.

2 posts later? Was it, really? It was from a while back so not "2 posts later".

Was it made up on the same level as King hiring Austin even though he didn't own the club?
I mean, yes, it was. But I do love the fact that you always come out fighting even when you are demonstrably wrong though. 😉 I'm not sure hypocracy has a time limit anyway but if it did:

316 - 'Shmee makes things up'.

Same day.

As for the 'who was wronger?' question - that's just weird.

What was made up, exactly? That we were in for Browne but Robins wanted Stamenic?

I don’t think a lot of the players are bad.

I think we had a scatter gun approach to recruitment in the summer, some fit the system some don’t.

We need to refine now. Sell those that haven’t worked and reinvest in players in positions we need.
Whilst I completely agree with what you have said, I think our coaches should be improving, refining the players we have into a coherent unit that can get us at least into the top half of the division. Am I agreeing with Doug shock?
Most of this team (injuries have not helped) got us near the top and a semi-final last year.

Pretty easy to cut and paste the interview if it is with the Telegraph, or copy if on audio.
Would stop any arguments if it is indisputable.
Look forward to seeing or hearing his exact words.
Don't worry. The agenda is so clear by some. I put it up so many times before but then the same old crap keeps getting said again. It normally gets to Robins and Austin are mates but the article says Robins met him several times over the years. Then the comments come out with what are we going on about.

The kids at primary school were more grown up than some people on here.

The evidence is that he isn't good so people just ignore robins saying how he's known him for years.

That doesn't mean he appointed him. Your argument is as weak as the others. Professional footballers know each other, they sometimes go on coaching courses together... Shock horror.

I’m still confused as to why it matters. What does matter is King clearly values his opinion and has get him in his job. Let’s hope he can start to find some decent new targets. There will always be some misses regardless.

Really.

Why not post it. You should know how to do things on here by now.

Just a bit baffling how you have zero clue about his comments about when he was interviewing for coaches but will spend hours on here telling everybody he's blameless for everything ever in the world and it's all lampard and kings fault.

Nick. . The person who jumps on people's back saying about their unsubstantiated rubbish while jumping on people's backs with his unsubstantiated rubbish and never showing anything to back up what he says.

Robbins got rid of Adi 6 months ago. King got the blame for 6 months

You're getting boring again. I clearly know when and where robins mentioned the coaching structure and him planning it. I'm just finding it more random you don't seem to have a clue.

It's not unsubstantiated to say robins said that he was playing the coaching structure while interviewing, he said it.

If you clearly know where and when it will be easy to find.

I think I know what you're on about. Was often said about but doesn't say what people think. That's why I say I would love to see you quote it.

Yes it is bloody boring. Same old thing from the same people but never a quoted article or anything to back anything up. Just like I'm supposed to be anti King for saying I think it's the way we're now set up that can really hurt us. To me Austin is a massive liability and needs to go. But you and certain others jump all over it each time it's mentioned. It seems your biggest aim in life is to blame Robins for whatever you can. He is gone. He was very good for us. Now we need to back Lampard. This means bringing in the players he needs. And if nothing has changed it brings us back to the subject of Austin. Yes boring but very important.

We don't know what happened. All we have is rumours. Someone shagging someone or whatever. Nobody can state anything as fact as things have been unusually quiet for a club that's had a near total clear out of people that have been with us for years.

I do have my doubts that Robins would have the final say though. His role was reduced to head coach for the last near 2 years. This is one of the rare facts in this game of Chinese whispers.
