No thanks.

Football is more than winning trophies. I'd rather us have a proper identity.

Give it a few years and Birmingham and Wrexham fans will be desperate to return to their old, proper club. You already see fans of both clubs getting twitchy about things.
Although they wont be poor once they get promoted the financial rules in the Championship are a lot different to the lower leagues. They won't be able to buy there way to the top in the same way as they do now.

I was going to make a thread about this actually

Seemingly the investment he planned to bring in hasn't been forthcoming which has changed his outlook

He strolled in thinking this owning a club lark was easy, you could flog players for a huge profit most years rinse and repeat

When hes discovered that indeed isn't the case (remember, he himself admitted he know nothing of football) he's realising just how hard owning a football club is now the honeymoon period is over

So the club isn't up for sale in the greatest sense of the word, but he won't be here by 2028 I can 100% promise you, that may even be a lot sooner with how it's panned out recently
Joy sold him a pig in a poke. 😁

You joke but that’s the kind of takeover that would be a bigger disaster than SISU. The guy is a fruit loop. He’d 100% throw a wobbler at the first sign of grumbling and fuck us off to playing in America just out of spite
SISU? Disaster ? Lol

They did a pretty good job. Relegation was almost inevitable, given the mess left by Richardson and Robinson.

Two relegations followed by two promotions and a cup win and almost promotion back to the PL.

All this garbage about SISU being the worse owners City ever had is laughable.

Even if they were poor, that is nothing compared to what Robinson and Richardson did to the Sky Blues.

Got asked the other day, say Red Bull wanted us (they dont) would you take the name change if they made us into a consistent top 6 Prem side that win trophies every other year

I said yes is that bad?
Hold on a minute does this mean I lose my job?

There was an article in the national press last December time.

It surprised me that no one seemed to pick up on it.

The general thrust was Coventry had thrown money around but the money spent - especially on wages - was unsustainable and King had realised it.

More recently, you can see articles out there - the latest being in Leeds Live - that Coventry City’s financial problems are being acknowledged and Cov need to sell.

I would suggest a reasonable assessment is that City are now more likely to be relegated in the next say 5 years, than get promoted.

The high water tide was last season.

Lampards budget gone

Lati costing us again ffs.

"Whilst the incident in the tunnel was sparked by the actions of the Sheffield United coaching staff member, the actions of the Coventry City players and staff were clearly improper and/or provocative. It was claimed that their actions escalated matters, specifically in the case of the Coventry City No 22, who could be seen on the video to have returned to the incident and pushed and shoved an opposing player. This conduct of itself was improper and provocative. It could not be said that this was purely defensive. There was further pushing and shoving between both sides in the tunnel area involving another Coventry City player and the first team coach."

I've not read this thread for a couple of days, but seeing Ashley, Dinsha and Red Bull being mentioned (obvs tongue in cheek), and the lack of transfer activity that Doug has no money and we are skint again?

That wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, it would allow us to somewhat return to what we were doing well but a bit more comfortable

We went down the leagues because of them and climbed back up despite them. Similarly if Eustace takes Blackburn up it doesn’t make the Venkys great.

The one thing I will give the bloke is that he will indeed leave us in a lot better state than he got us. Off the field at least. On the field not so much
We've had the international flavour, now we're getting the we're getting the British IST division improvers version apart from Bassette but it's only a hop to Belgium!

Actually, I will correct myself. We went down the leagues because R and R had trashed the club completely.

Relegation to the old Div 4 was down to the state of the club

Yes. That's bad.

Don't want our players wearing a kit that looks like a tin of Red Bull. Don't want us wearing red. But if we stay Coventry City and our home kit stays some kind of Sky Blue then it depends who it is. Wouldn't like owners that are from certain countries.

But a few billion in the kitty would be nice.

It was like six years from Sisu taking over to us getting relegated wasn’t it?

You missed the bit about SISU alienating the fans before, during and after we ‘left’ The Ricoh. The utter shite they put the fans through during those years.
