An easy watch, nothing groundbreaking

This is one you called easily overlook and is the rarity, in that it`s an excellent Netflix series.

Unbelievable ( 8 parts )

Dramatisation of the true story, of the hunt for a serial rapist in and around the Colorado area.

The first rape victim, being a young girl, who not only did the investigating officers not believe ( hence the title ) buy went onto ruin her life.

Outstanding cast, inc Toni Collette and Merritt Weaver and very well written.

A very fine piece of television and one that will really grip you.

Nosferatu.

Visually stunning, with beautiful, but stark cinematography, production and outstanding sets too.

Here`s something i thought I`d never say, Nicholas Hoult is outstanding as one of the leads, well supported by Ralph Ineson and a completely over the top Willem Defoe.

Bill Skarsgard, didn`t really do it for me as Orlock ( Nosferatu ) and Lilly Rose Depp wasn`t too convincing in her roll either.

It`s in Olde English, which is how Eggers likes his films, so sometimes you find yourself losing sight of the film as you concentrate on trying to work the language out.

Good, but could`ve been better with a few changes (imo )

It’s funny. The director must have watched Hertzogs 1979 version with Klaus Kinski and Bruno Ganz and thought “Yeah Incan do better than that” and unsurprisingly doesn’t. The Hetzog version is one of the most unsettling and creepy films you will ever watch but is quite beautiful at the same time.

Spot on.

Considering it was basically a straight lift of the Dracula story, Nosferatu went onto inspire so many other vampire films.

For a film that was made in the early 1920`s it`s incredibly sleek and stylish too.

Just rewatching , life on mars and ashes to ashes on iPlayer , still a really good watch

Gene Hunt is one of the all time great tv characters, to that point, that he almost completely overshadowed the character of Sam Tyler.

I used to work in an office like that, everyone smoked at their desk, soft porn calendars on the walls and everyone went on the piss together at least once a week - pay day Friday was the big one, absolute carnage.

Just finished series three of - From.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it, I`m just struggling to see where they go with it without some kind of big reveal.

It`s starting to feel a bit like the old series Lost, where it keeps getting weirder and weirder, with no real end in sight.

Silent Witness, I used to quite enjoy it as an easy watch.

It's just silly now, I'm half expecting a one legged, Jewish, Chinese lesbian to hobble across the screen with a thumbs up to make sure she is seen.

My fear too.

So like Lost in many, many ways.

I think From could be a lot better than it actually is and has probably missed a trick.

It's a bit overloaded with twists and weirdness

I do still like it though.

Just watched Eps 1 and 2 of American Primeval.
Really good so far, love a gritty Western.

I`ve just started and it`s one of those rarities, in that it`s an outstanding series from Netflix.

The attention to detail is off the scale, great cast, well written and brutal in equal measure.

I`m assuming that you`ve watched the other outstanding Western series - Godless ? ( again on Netflix )

Without doubt one of the all time Western greats

Yes watched it, my favourite genre.
Hell on Wheels and Deadwood also excellent.

Anyone been watching Silo? Season 1 veered between some great moments, and some of the most boring TV drama I've seen in years. Not sure if S2 is worth starting.

That's on my list, going to rewatch Season 1 first as there was a lot going on and I'm def not going to remember enough to pick it back up again.

Yeah, we all like Silo.

Finding the second season a tad wearying and a bit of a trudge though.

First season was much better.

Not at all new but just started Mad Men. It’s great isn’t it? No idea why I left it so long. Such a vibe, off to drink whiskey and sexually harass women.
Great isn't it, not huge stakes or anything just all about the mood and good characters. Little details like when they have a family picnic and just fuck all the rubbish in the bushes when they leave, different times! Re-watched it with my wife recently. Holds up so well.. especially Joan

Looks good. Giving it a go
Weaves contemptory true events and historical dramatisation, goes about as far as it can showing a negative portrayal of the LDS church hierarchy without being sued.

Plan to watch Nosferatu tonight. Watched the 1922 film in school.

Hope it’s better than the 1992 Dracula which imo is fucking horse shit. The Bram Stoker novel could’ve been many pages shorter too!
