Unfortunately, I didn’t know anything about this player , before a life long Rangers fan got in touch , to say we were probably taking him on loan .
He didn’t give a glowing report & said to steer clear , but as we’ve seen in this short time of Frank taking over , players can get better with good coaching , so let’s hope he is a missing part of our team
i'll take things that didn't happen for 50 please

Makes me laugh when fans tell other fans to steer clear, as if the decision might be up to them

Looking at the positives…

He’s got good pedigree coming through at Manchester City. Good experience in the bundesliga and scored a fair few goals in the Belgian top league. Even in his limited games at Rangers he’s shown he can score. He’s obviously very fast and has played at our level before (I’m sure he played against us in lockdown maybe).

If it’s a permanent signing it makes a little sense.

I can’t see us signing this guy along with Schlupp with EMC and Wright playing in that left wing/LF position.
Both fairly versatile though right? Matondo can play across the front and Schlupp can play literally anywhere.

yeah,

Lawrence would be good though

Agree . A very strong signing. Someone Robins definitely wanted when Derby got relegated .
Seems unlikely we would go for another striker though unless we are trying to get more business done?
Was in the Keogh car all these years ago as I remember

When Strachen was in charge, I think half the team were jocks lol (not literally but seemed like it). McAlister obviously stood out for me, classy player. First year my dad could afford an ST for us was when Stein and Huch signed.
I’m now thinking of a Cov Scottish 11!
I’ve whipped up a very quick and inaccurate 11…

1. Jim Blyth
2. Paul Telfer(?)
3. ???
4. Gary Macallister
5. Gary Gillespie
6. Steven Pressley (😀)
7. Kevin Gallacher
8. David Speedie
9. Willy Carr
10. Sandy Robertson
11. Dougie McGuire

I got bored/ran out of steam. Please do a proper job!

We need someone versatile who can play AML/R/C and he seems to have a reasonable pedigree. I’m OK with this as a stop gap until the end of the season if it is Matondo. Maybe he just hates Scotland?

Got to have Strachan there even at 68 or whatever he was when he came here.

Jim Brogan at left back.

Surely Roy Barry in for Pressley.

Colin Stein and Brian Alderson.

As for not including Hutch!!!!!!!!

Matondo is a Welsh Ashley Cain - can run fast in a straight line but not much else

Ashley Cain was an unbelievable athlete when I used to run with him back in the day. Never seen anyone like him, he was a machine even when he was like 14. Was so impressive to watch him in the 100m sprints.
Won pretty much every race bar one. Was a long time ago but I think when he was 14/15 he was running 100m in 10.8 seconds

I left out the 3 that prompted the 11!!!

I think I’ve mentioned this before but unbeknownst to me Hutchison was part of some sports development thing for the local authority I used to work for.
I only found out when I started playing in the regular lunch time 5 aside game…
“Oh yeah, Tommy Hutchison used to play in this game…you could see he’d played a bit”. I mean ffs!!! Apparently I missed playing with him by a matter of weeks!!!!

Obviously we know Tavares isn't really in the frame, but it doesn't say much for Raphael if we're bringing in a loan to cover/compete with the wingers.

Or Sakamoto

Especially in a time we aren't playing with Wingers and have 2 x RWs sat on the bench along with Tavares who has tended to play there for us.
