He did one out to MVE in the first half too if I remember, somebody pinged the ball into his feet with a player on him and he played it out wide.

Did really well to not get booked as well (at least I think he didn’t?). Seemed to foul Cantwell about 4 times and also various other little niggly fouls on other players to disrupt them. You often need that in away games and we haven’t done any of that stuff for so long.

Yeah said it in the match thread that we rotated fouls well, although Torp did a lot of them.

Im willing to overlook the pass completion percentages if he is playing passes like that one to MVE last night.

It’s better than stat padding with tippy tappy passes that go 3-5 yards to the nearest player. If his shot creating actions and expected assists were low and passing % low, I’d be worried. In the event, he’s excellent at getting the ball in dangerous areas for assists.

Pass completion % can be misleading.

Yeah that’s what I want, someone who is taking risks and not looking for the safe option every time.

Yes, stats can be misleading and need some context. Dasilva probably doesn't give the ball away much but he doesn't create much from forward positions either.

Tell Doug we need a player in the top left hand quarter to complete that top 6 deck. 😁

I don’t even think he’s been bad at all, but he’s currently the fifth choice CM so I can see him being moved on.

As the season has shown we need the depth so it feels unlikely to me that he'll move on.

For a player that Lampard doesn't fancy he's appeared in every game Lampard's managed in the league and started more games than he hasn't. He's been shifted out of the starting 11 since the switch to the 3-5-2, so it might well just be tactical.

He’s started in five games and been subbed on in seven since Lampard came in.

I’m assuming that Lampard will want/get his own players in at CM in the summer, so assuming that Sheaf (who Lampard clearly rates) doesn’t get sold then I think Eccles is very much at risk.

I'd like to see Eccles as the 6 with Rudoni and Torp as the two 8s pushing on in front of him

Although having said that Allen is the best player in the team atm as has been said on his thread
Allen is the glue in that midfield 3 atm. He covers a lot of distance, picks up a lot of second balls and is tidy in possession.

He hasn’t been flash, it’s been solid all around in his game and compliments Rudoni and Torp nicely.

Thing is he has ALWAYS been really good at playing simple, non-flashy football at this level, but fans don't seem to value that as much as managers do
