Well if we consider that there arent many managers that have gone from league 2 to the championship and miss out on the prem by a spot kick .... I reckon you're right

The proof will be the year on year finishes for Lamps and Robins.
Both starting from similar positions, although Stoke are a bit of a basket case, which we were when Robins arrived.
Stoke have more money but less patience.
It is essential Managers are judged by where they finish in the league, with the proviso that injuries can scupper any team. Also see bad VAR decisions that completely change the dynamic of a season.
This appears to be the first year in 8 years we seemed to be going backwards, whatever the reason.
Lamps job is to turn it around and he has started out well. All teams have purple patches during a season. It's maintaining form that is crucial.

I don't know why there has to be an effort to downplay what Robins achieved here because he's not started brilliantly at Stoke, it's weird.
He's gone now, wonderful memories and his fantastic achievements here can't be denied.

Robins did brilliant things for us, but he was done and got away with it for a few weeks at the end I’ve said before I would have sacked him a month or so earlier, I was fed up with the same rubbish after the games which he is still using now at Stoke and I felt he gave the officials an easy ride Lampard is at them a lot more often like most teams do.
I don’t wish him or any other manager any luck.

Which is fair enough and it is what it is .
It's still weird so many fans on social media including SBT are still trying to dismiss the achievements of a bloke that gave them some of the best years they've ever had supporting the club.

Whole Robins thing is getting a bit nauseating now tbh
I was annoyed at the time but C'est La Vie... dare I say and none of us said it at the time and some don't want to say it now but it may well have been the correct decision with the benefit of hindsight, as difficult as it was to see him go
Lampard has come in and done a good job so far and that is all that matters to me, how MR does at Stoke is no concern to me, I’m not actively wanting him to fail nor do I want to see him do well there and the clamour to praise him/knock him when they win/lose/draw is weird - He doesn't have to prove anything to us and he will always be a legend regardless
I hope he gets a proper welcome back and rapturous reception at some point in the future but on a Legends Day years after the dust settles and he’s not in a Stoke City tracksuit

I can't see anywhere on here people downplaying Robins achievements. He done brilliant for this club, saved us, turned us around and took us to another level. It's now somebody else's turn to take us to the next level.

Let's just be honest here. People shouldn't be negative about robins just like no one should have been negative about lampard right off the bat.
People are slowly realising they were wrong but only after I had to be the forum leader and put them in their places.
Robins was a legend and always will be
