Transfer Rumour BTA to Blackburn (3 Viewers)

He won't be sold, not a chance. Unless Doug King recovers the exact amount he spent on the lad he will be playing for our club.

Even if King receives the matching amount we paid, I still believe it would take BTA to have to force the move for it to happen.

King genuinely believes we have a top 6 deck, his arrogance wouldn't allow him to admit he got this wrong.

BTA stays, unless a club comes in at the last minute, matches what we paid for him and BTA wanting to move on.

Our club won't just write off a million quid like that.

Unless Lamps don't want him, I just don't see why we would sign a player and then sell him a few months later for less, he isn't a good football player but he can play on the wings when others are out injured.

Well the club have just posted photos on Facebook which include BTA in training so doubt anything is happening before the weekend at least

All negotiations are carried out by agents, player continues as normal until told otherwise.

Admin should photoshop some random into a training pic then sit back and watch everyone on here losing their minds trying to work out who it is

Coventry City's version of Where's Wally.

Unfortunately until EMC and Haji are back we are short up front. If they up their offer they could have him on 31st January though when our boys should be close to fitness again.

I hope not. I was firmly in the 'I'd happily drive him there' when it was announced, but I think we've seen enough to know he's worth keeping in just those few games since. I know it's only a short spell, but we do need depth, I think a run in his favoured position has added a couple of goals which tbf were the only missing ingredient. He was always a threat at WBA I felt against us and I just figured for whatever reason it wouldnt happen here and we should perhaps get some money back to reinvest. Some players do take a little longer to settle, hopefully now his confidence is up he can go on a run and I'd prefer to keep him.

We need Grimes more than we need BTA

Same, I think he's shown enough in the last few games to be a good addition to the squad.
In an ideal world, I'd like us to keep Thomas-Asante, loan out Bassette and release/sell Tavares.
We'd be covered then once Wright and Mason-Clark are available again

Agreed, especially about Bassette. If he dropped down a league or even two, on loan, it could prove invaluable to his development.

If we don't have too sell and its a marginal profit on BTA i don't understand why we would sell to a club we are competing against for top 6 place. We need a good deep squad and BTA definitely adds to it, its a no for me. And i hope the club thinks the same we will see more from BTA under the coaching staff.

I also wouldn't disrupt the group let the season play out, in the summer i feel lots of changes anyway so it will not impact as much in my opinion. The negative outweighs the positives on this one for me

I think the more relevant question is whether we need to sell or not. Lets assume the club has been able to fund the signing of Grimes without the need for anyone being sold then I think it's worth keeping BTA. If the signing of Grimes means someone need to go out then based on the ones there are rumors of interest for i'd let BTA go.

I thought the suggestion was that shifting BTA would finance the Grimes deal.

@Saddlebrains ?
