Touch of a trampoline, but am starting to like him. Must be a nightmare to mark, legs go one way, arms the other. Needs to calm the fuck down.

I'd say at this point fans just have it in for him , not sure how his performance can be criticised today really , he lost the ball 3 times ... 3

Same reason I remember every shit pass Thomas does or every time Jamie Allen is eased out of the way or people jumped on every shit pass from Sheaf for years. Confirmation bias is rife in football. That’s why stats matter.

He was dispossessed 3 times, had 3 unsuccessful touches and misplaced 6 passes, so he lost of the ball 12 times out of his 27 touches, that's losing the ball 44% of the time be had it.

Where are you getting stats from ? Fotmob

What is an unsuccessful touch ?

BTA scored an absolute beauty today, fair play to the guy it was a fantastic goal that won us the game.
But let's not kid ourselves, there's still a lot for him to work on, his hold up play needs to improve, and he's still guilty of giving the ball away far too often.
He is improving, and his work rate can't be faulted, but the quality in possession needs to improve. If he can do that he'll be a real asset.

Asante terrific goal and assist today but his all round game was so poor, nearly everytime he got it he lost it straight away, if only he could hold it up he would be great but keep losing possession puts us under pressure, if he stays hopefully he can improve on this immensley
You can’t slag a boy off for a goal and assist, ever

I thought you were a logically thinking man. Surely upon watching Asante you can see he has a dreadfull first touch and often puts passes astray.

You posted a link of the CBS arena homepage. Since your arguments are laughably horrendous, please continue.

Ok cool , so after digging deeper I've found a website that shows more information and sure I was incorrect and stupot is correct.

Asante lost the ball 12 times today , Simms 16 with a lower pass completion rate

Do we therefore assume you hold the same opinion of our other striker ellis simms ??

With the defence being competent, and BTA assisting and scoring and in pretty good form for what his role requires, would you agree that you’re wasting your time in such a debate?

I'm definitely wasting my time

Bidwell lost possession 22 times
Rudoni 16 , Torp 16 times ,MVE 14 times

Asante scored and assisted , some fans just have it in for him full stop

I could not believe that people saw his performance against Blackburn and spurs at home and thought he didn’t have it.

My guy was getting 20 mins off the bench and on the wing and people were slating him. What were they expecting when a guy was getting minimal minutes out of position.

It’s a story as old as time, give a player time in their rightful position and they can come good.

BTA is a baller at this level and he’s owed a lot of apologies.

Hmmmm. You were doing well until you used the term 'baller'.
Please feel free to start the apology avalanche.

The amount of short passes he gets wrong is incredible.
I did say he needs a run in the team playing through the middle, (which I didn't think he'd get), but now he has you can't argue with the goals and assists he's starting to contribute.

We can't be too far away from being in a position where Frank can revert to his favoured 4 3 3.
Be interesting to see what happens shape and selection wise over the next few weeks.

In possession, BTA could be liability, he holds on to the ball too long and his passing is quite awkward. He can finish really well, the finishes yesterday and against Bristol were top drawer and demonstrated why we signed him and why he was WBA’s top scorer last season.

With strikers, they need time upfront and selecting Bassette was holding both Simms and BTA back imo. For example, Simms averaged 1 goal per 195 minutes before his run in the team, in the last 4 consecutive starts, he scored 2 goals which is on track with his record. He’d have needed 8-12 sub appearances to hit 200 minutes this season!
