What are you talking about? I like Asante. I also like Simms. That’s ok, btw. I know you struggle with that.@KM85 another poster who likes posts discussing the issues around asante and his game but struggles with any simms criticism
There's plenty of you tbh
What are you talking about? I like Asante. I also like Simms. That’s ok, btw. I know you struggle with that.
I just find your posts hilarious. Saying people ‘have it in’ for Asante is comedy gold, coming from the chief instigator when it comes to anti Simms stuff. You’ve been at it since last season, throwing the odd ‘I like Simms’ doesn’t disguise it, you turn any thread you can into a Simms debate and it’s fucking draining to read every week, anyone with half a brain on here has spotted it. You know they have as well, so you’ve jumped to sticking up for Asante, cause anyone’s better than Simms right? Now you’re trying to push that he’s somehow better than Simms by posting your stats and crap like you always do.
They’re different types of players and you don’t know what they are told to do in a match. They both work hard in different ways, and if you really want to nit pick, Simms would have the extra goal if he hadn’t kicked the ball onto Asantes foot at Blackburn, he’d have more assists if Rudoni would’ve put his chances away. That other poster was right, the assist the other day from Asante was behind him, doesn’t mean he’s criticising Asante, it means Simms did well to create the goal and finish it the way he did. You couldn’t bring yourself to compliment him for it though could you as if I remember from following the match thread, you didn’t see it apparently. It’s swings and roundabouts, that’s football though right? They are both playing well. Why can’t you just enjoy that we are winning and have changed under Frank Lampard. Constant point scoring on every thread trying to get at Simms in whatever way you can.
No, I mean exactly what I pointed out. You can’t pull the wool over my eyes, I see right through your posts. It’s constant and let’s face it, what it all really boils down to is the fact he left Matty Godden sitting on the bench, you’ve been at him ever since. Doesn’t matter how you try to sugar coat it, and you keep finding ways. You just can’t let things go. Same with Robins and that’s why Nick keeps pointing it out as he can obviously see what you do as well.By anti Simms I assume you mean being frustrated that he absolutely wasn't giving enough to the team for most of the early part of this season ?
you like posts saying asante is giving the ball away too much and has to improve on other aspects of his game and yet when somebody says it about ellis and the fact he was dispossessed more at Swansea you seem to struggle to take that in too ??
Fact is you're doing EXACTLY what you're moaning at me doing ya plonker
And I missed the goal , I had 3 people arguing with a steward right infront of me , atleast i was there .. were you ?
Ah sorry I can't pull the wool over your or nicks eyes I say what I mean , Simms has many things to work on , he isn't gabriel batistuta like you and others think he is but he has plenty of potential but rarely looks like he's going to make the most of his ability. No, I mean exactly what I pointed out. If I like something it doesn’t mean I agree with every aspect of it, nor does it reflect my opinion on Asante. I actually like him and want him to do well, the same as I do with Simms, Eccles and Thomas, and all the players that get unnecessary shit on here. The whole team misplaces passes and they’re all guilty of not giving enough this year. Whatever the reason was nobody is immune to constructive criticism. That includes Simms. There’s a difference in that and what you are doing.
I wasn’t there no, I have a disabled brother to look after and unfortunately can’t make many matches anymore, I was a season ticket holder for 20 years though and used to go to every away game possible. So trying to dig at me for not being there won’t wash either. You should do better.
I must have missed the post where someone has compared him to Batistuta. You have no idea what I think of him as I’ve never stated it. He is a young striker who needs a lot of coaching to bring out his true potential. Just like every other player in this squad, they need a coach who will develop them, and Lampard seems to be making headway. They will all make mistakes and will hopefully learn from them and improve.Ah sorry I can't pull the wool over your or nicks eyes I say what I mean , Simms has many things to work on , he isn't gabriel batistuta like you and others think he is but he has plenty of potential but rarely looks like he's going to make the most of his ability.
He's NOT been good enough in large spells here that really isn't up for debate surely ?

I’m not going to be pedantic about any singular player as I don’t have it in for any of them. I’ll let the qualified coaches make decisions on whether or not they will make the most of their ability. While they are here I’ll support them.
I agree he is incapable of lifting his head at times. It doesn’t mean I hate him and want him to leave. I hope it’s something he will improve on. I’m also not on here posting negatively about him at every opportunity I can, because I want him to do well. Going to the lengths of looking through what I have and haven’t liked will not change the fact that you don’t like being pulled up on what you’ve been doing since last season. You can’t prove anything because some has agreed with a portion of someone’s post by liking it. I could be as childish by looking through all of your posts, but that would take me weeks as there’s that many. That would also be giving you what you want though, as you just love to drag out the Simms thing with anyone who will listen.Like I say , if you're going to come at me about negativity towards players , atleast get your own house in order
You can't pull the wool over my eyes , you absolutely hate asante and il hear nothing else , there are many more liked posts about his flaws
cheers

Fair play...i must admit i have seen ahuge improvement in Asante, how he was on it from the 1st minute vs Bristol city he kinda won me over. You want people to give simms a break but at the same time seem comfortable calling asante a piss poor signing .. yet he has scored the same as simms this season but works much harder in matches
The forum seems incapable of talking about simms but comfortable destroying our other striker who has been no worse this season
Ah he's shy , no starts , no confidence , subbed too early , on too late .
Asante - shit
Not a dig at you per se but an obvious observation
Id say 19 goals for a 23 year old in his first season with us is fantastic return, that not debateable. Yeah i get he shpuld have scored 25 plus. But he wouldnt be with us if he did!Ah sorry I can't pull the wool over your or nicks eyes I say what I mean , Simms has many things to work on , he isn't gabriel batistuta like you and others think he is but he has plenty of potential but rarely looks like he's going to make the most of his ability.

I’ve been reading this forum for years, I don’t post because it’s hard to have a voice on here. I actually think you were a really good poster but seeing your decline on Simms in particular is sad. There was a time when we used to get behind players and afford them time. You’re not the only one but you quoted me so I replied. Of course he needs to improve, but it’s not just him, they all have flaws, and that’s what hopefully these new coaches will do, improve them. It’s actually a really good feeling for once to have so many choices that are actually ours, no loans etc. They all have things to work on in their individual game, until we have the others back from injury I actually think Asante and Simms are working really well together just as Wright and Simms did last year and I hope it continues.Ok
I want the team to succeed, I want ellis to succeed .
I will try and be less critical of him and offer a more constructive view of his performances .
Not a problem

Its fair to say hes improving. Whilst hes scoring hes doing well imo.
Think credit has to to go Lampard and co.
£8M Haji Wright seasoned established international 27 years old.He still gets some of the most basic things wrong. Hopefully the more they work with him they'll iron them issues out.
Championship records
Simms 24 goals 89 games
Asante 21 goals 110 games
I think Simms has the potential to be unstoppable in this league hes only just turned 24.Championship records
Simms 24 goals 89 games
Asante 21 goals 110 games
Obviously what they bring to the table are completely different attributes. They both contribute in a different way. They do compliment each other well.I can't argue with that
Simms has a much higher ceiling than asante , that's never been the argumentb
I agree that if Simms used his attributes well he could be unstoppable at this level and maybe a nuisance at the top with some serious progression ... but I agree they are both frustrating players I just get irritated by the levels of abuse one takesBoth incredibly frustrating players. Show glimpses of real quality then do something you’d be ashamed to do in Sunday league. The trampoline feet of both and Simms inability to jump for a header are particularly galling. There must be an explanation for it but as a fan you do wonder why a player at this stage in their career is still getting this stuff wrong.

Gets alot of basic things wrong. Theres a reason these players with us.

You won't often find me criticising a player on a platform, but one thing that has always frustrated me about Wright is his petulant fouls, after he has lost or given away a ball. I surely can't be the only one who has noticed this, and ironically it's what led to his unfortunate injury at Sunderland.£8M Haji Wright seasoned established international 27 years old.

Was a great header for his home goal too4 of Simms 5 goals have come away from home this season
That’s a refereeing difference between here and Turkey who are dirty bastards at bestYou won't often find me criticising a player on a platform, but one thing that has always frustrated me about Wright is his petulant fouls, after he has lost or given away a ball. Can anyone ever remember a time ( on here ) when nobody critised players, or slagged off so-and so poster for their opinions, and just revelled in a winning streak like we're in now?
I wonder if we really do have some posters who would cream themselves if things went sour!!!
I never really thought of it like that. That’s a refereeing difference between here and Turkey who are dirty bastards at best
