Do expect him to sign just due to all the noise at the club being positive. Whether or not today who knows.

Interesting that Lampard called him and asked him to come. Thought Jamie would of asked the club

I mean if it is really criterion then I'll go down there and see if I can get a short term deal, happy for pay as you play or whatever

Its fairly obvious that he will end up signing. No smoke without fire and all that. I am not sure why its being drawn out for so long unless just in case a better offer comes in for his services.

And while I’m here can we just stop with the “Pato” nonsense? I’m happy for his friends and loved ones to call him that but as fans it should be Paterson - or doubtless Patterson to most.

I can understand Oggy, Bigi, Lati, maybe even Fadz and Saka as shorthand for long or difficult to spell correctly names but Bidders, Simmo and to a lesser degree Tats are just wrong. Do you not remember when Chris fucking Coleman tried to get us to call him “Cookie”? Ridiculous.

I can understand why Frank, Chris and Joe want him in the squad. He’s clearly got assets that Mark liked when he signed him.

I hope other youngsters like Kai, Greg, Tristan and Kai can break into the squad next year

I like the fact that he seems to be popular around the place. A good atmosphere is an integral part to a positive run in and although that's obviously not the only reason we should sign him, he's obviously got good experience, is well liked and would be a great option off the bench, if not starting.

Oh....and can we stop calling him Pato?!

Why is he past it?

Had arguably the best season of his career last season. And he's 33, could still have a few years left in him.

The trend that has started of using players' given names rather than surnames is annoying.

Though, of course it hardly hurts anyone and people's personal posting style is their own concern.

It still annoys me, though.

Couldn’t get in Charlotte FC’s team and got released, don’t see clubs queuing up for him tbh

I honestly hope he does well for us, always seems to score or play well against us… just giving this ‘massive cov fan’ bollocks when he’s turned us inside out when we’ve played and rejected us multiple times… doesn’t seem like a massive fan to me
