Thank f**k that Windows closed, all the speculation about players we might sign and we only end up with one.

I honestly don’t miss it. I love the competitiveness of the championship and financial benefits aside, I’m really not that fussed about the premier league
Same. Loving the journey trying to get there and want to help secure the club as long as it’s sensibly invested.

Zero interest in PL, hate what’s it’s become.

Guess I’d like us to get there for my kids more than anything also. So I don’t have to bore them of my stories 🤣

I'd honestly be happy to do what Blackpool did; Go up for a season, treat every game like a carnival, celebrate every one of the few goals we would score like we've just won the FA Cup, pocket the cash and laugh all the way to the bank.

Before your time maybe, but not before mine.

VILLA will always be the most hated club amongst any Cov fan I would say above the age of 30.

Leicester, Derby, Sunderland all hated, but Villa on top of that list by a mile.
Depends how far above 30...

When I first got hooked, we were Division 1 and Villa were Division 3.

The real rivalry back then (late 60s) was Wolves as I recall.

I think it depends on what part of Cov you are from as to whether you see Leicester or Villa as your rival, just as it depends on what part of Leicester you are from as to whether you see Cov or Forest as your rival. I don’t think it’s an age thing.

Over the last decade we have barely been in the same division as either.

I’m 31 and my first game was 2003 so I’ve never seen us play Villa.

I get the others but why Derby?

Also 31, been going since the mid 90’s, can remember the last 2 or 3 years of top flight and the Villa hatred means absolutely fuck all to me either.

Not sure I hate any club more than the other tbh, all cunts.

We really didn't like villa back then .. there is also a big thread on villatalk about how much they despise us aswell but it's mostly people from mine to my dads generation talking about matches from the 80s and 90s

I always remember one occasion when we had beaten Villa at home in the 80's. There was a bloke Infront of us with his lad who must have been about 6. The son said " We shit on the Villa didn't we dad ". He'd obviously picked up on the song.

I don't 'hate' any club. In fact I really don't like the whole 'hate' thing, even for Leicester. I love the City, end of, after that it's pointless, absolutely pointless. Similarly I will always back a British team over other countries - Scotland for instance

I have a few 'second' clubs whose score I look out for, mostly since childhood, notably MKDons (really admire what they have done), Sheffield Wednesday, Alloa Athletic (family connection) and Oldham (first game I saw - v Bradford). Quite like Villa as well as financially they are biggest midland club. When I was growing up everybody else on the estate supported Villa, then Jimmy Hill came along and the rest is history...

The second paragraph is one of the worst paragraphs in forum history.

MK Dons? Has to be a wind up, surely?

I’d say 35 plus. There will be people in their early 30s who’ve never seen us play them.

This (context) and geography are inportant I think. For my Dad our main rivals were Wolves - and before that Northampton and Peterborough. For me it was the Vile. They remain an institution that I hate even though I quite admire their manager and even like some of their players atm. They are however, the only team that I always want to lose.

Growing up in Leamington almost all of my school mates who went to watch football followed either us or Villa. If you didn’t attend games you were likely to support Man United, Liverpool or Leeds.
