Am I being harsh to suggest that Dovin might have done better for the last two goals?

Yes, this means I want Collins back in goal before anyone asks.
His body shape was weird for the fourth certainly

Look if we're honest the last 2 games just show how far off the level we are

It's all well and good Doug saying about the 3 play offs in 5 years plan (which btw is 3 in 3 from next season), and he's doing his best, but we are nowhere near the level required to get out of this league

Are we a decent side? Yes. Are we good enough to go up even if we make play offs? Absolutely not, we would get eaten alive every week

Only 2 ways you get out of the Championship, a once in a generation season (Ipswich, Blackpool, Hull, Luton and ALMOST us)

Or you have Parachute money / silly amounts of money Wolves promotion season style.

The longer it goes on the more it seems the PO Final was THE chance, and we didn't take it

Don't get me wrong, it can be done, look at Sunderland this season, flying. But that is more the exception than the norm
Don’t worry about what may happen if we went up, we would never be ready due to financial gap.

cross that bridge if and when.

Ipswich and Leeds show levels, but also show they are not our battle for 5th/6th which is wide open for 6/7 very similar sides.

Key now for another unbeaten run in next block of 6.

bring on Tuesday.

I think fans need to take a breath. It is still early days for Frank Lampard and he is still getting to know the squad and their strengths and weaknesses. In reality we are a 10-6 team rather than a top 6 team.

We have had two really hard fixtures that has shown us the gulf between us, a top two Championship side and a bottom three Premiership side.

Still a lot to play for until the end of the season. Keep the faith and PUSB

Lampard rested key players. Rightly so. It will be completely different on Tuesday. Glad we are out the cup & can concentrate on the run in.

What the last week has shown is what terribly poor passers of the ball we have when pressed. All of our defence are incapable of passing out under pressure, with Allen and Rudoni not much better.

Our 4 match winning run against the run-of-the-mill dross of the Championship made us believe, but whoever was scouting the Leeds game for Ipswich had an easy night in working out how to beat us - simply press our awful defence/midfield. Combine that with a hopeless striker (Swansea wonder-goal excepted) and we never really had any chance.
The reality is that we are bang average mid-table Championship side which won’t improve without wholesale changes.

There’s prob only 3 or 4 teams in this league who’s frontline might gives us the problems Leeds and Ipswich did, think we’re a bit better than a bang average mid table side, but only just, just shows what a good job lampards done with them, back on track tues and we could be only a point off the play offs, shows that this league is a load of shit this season or wer’e not as bad as we think we are ?

League is definitely a load of shit - otherwise Blackburn for example would never be close to the play offs.

Forest wernt much cop when they went up, managed to stay up and spent well although heavily. Like you say cross that bridge when we come to it. Really don't think we'll get a better chance than when we lost to Luton though unfortunately 😕

Not sure what happened, but from my seat it looked as if Dovin could easily dive/kick it away.
Might just be the angle though.

Might feel like that currently, but things can change so quickly, 5 weeks ago some said we were in a relegation battle!

Full Lampard pre season and likely bit of shuffle things will change again! As long as we continue on positive trajectory on and off field which overall we are doing - that’s main thing.

Sorry, is the point not clear enough?

We’ve lost 2 games.

Every team in the division will lose two consecutive games at some point during the season

It’s not really cause for alarm

Not read all of this thread but does anyone know why we had two keepers on the bench. Apologies if this has been asked and answered earlier in the thread

Agree with this. What’s more frustrating is you need the right players at WB if you’re playing a five and Lati unfortunately is not that. If we had to go with a five Burroughs should’ve come on at half time at the very least or maybe even eccles there. we should’ve just gone with a 4 though,,especially today without MVE playing, stick Binks at LB if necessary
I mentioned previously that although Latts had an absolute stinker today he was played at RWB by default. He can “apparently” cover a number of positions which is a Jack of all trades and master of none scenario.
I’m just wondering what Da Silvas excuse is?

If that Rudi goal gets given, it's a completely different game. Same with the Leeds wonder saves.

Both sides were better than us but we've been a bit more unlucky than many are mentioning.

nothing to do with resources, just bad tactics, these player are doing what they're told by Frank and being negative and sitting back is by design. Why not get on the front foot like against watford and put some pressure on defenders, like teams do to us, or maybe we're the only team with shit cb's and no midfield? Elite tactician?? hmmmmm not too sure.
Mmmmm, I’m not too sure that Lampards basic instructions do not include that you must pass to a team mate and not make silly errors that aid the opposition with scoring 3-4 goals.

Just got back to Bristol very disappointed with the line up, maybe Frank didn’t want to bother with the cup.
Roll on Tuesday PUSB

Disappointing but not end of world. If we beat QPR everything is fine let's be honest

Still we need to stop patching ourselves out and giving game away. Who lost ball in first seconds for their counter? Allen Eccles or rudoni? It's just too easy.

Strongest team week in week out now till end of season I assume.

Will add unless I’m wrong the 5-3-2 is a stop gap at least at home.

Will be nice to see EMC, Wright and Shesf back to get a real sense of Lamps
