And in all that time, not one person has successfully managed to get the trains working, traffic flowing properly, walking fans not bottlenecked under the railway next to away fans in a crush every game


Its almost as if the place was fucked in its logistical design from minute one

For a start weve all agreed the away end is in the wrong place from the second the place opened

How much does it cost to close the road every match day?

At this point, might be a better investment to whack another footbridge over the other side of the roundabout too.

Just completely block off the crossings and force people over the 2 foot bridges and the subway further up if they want to cross over.

I didn't even know there was a subway there until about 3 months ago, maybe push people to use it as well?

It was certainly a decent route for me the other week bit confusing for me but had a good guide in my grandson.

We go to subway before every match for a bite to eat and there is always a queue so don't send anymore people there.

The timing of the trains is completely maddening - I left a couple of minutes early on Wednesday to make the 21:50 and it was a breeze. Amend the schedule by even 10 minutes and you could allow hundreds more people to safely and easily leave the stadium; instead it’s almost perfectly timed so there’s no point even considering the train unless you leave early or wait almost an hour. And of course it doesn’t run at all on weekends because ~*~reasons~*~.

It’s so insane that I have to assume it’s deliberately inconvenient for crowd control reasons or something?

I very rarely leave a game early but for the first time in years I did it during the cup game v Sheff Wed. Left our seats as added time started to get the 19.50 train only for the equaliser to go in en route to Cov station and then for us to win on pens - still never seen Cov or England win a shoot-out! The timing is maddening certainly and obviously the solution would be to have trains lined up (if possible).
When we went to Brighton a few years ago for the cup game they kept the bars open after and reduced the food so we stayed for an hour while the crowd left. This could also work but at the moment you can’t even get a soft drink after half-time.
We drove up to a game over Christmas and parked at Cov Welsh rugby - 10-min walk and straight out after. Perfect.

That’s where we park. Parked on the double yellow lines at the bottom of the road for the Leeds game, luckily no ticket. There was a huge number of lorries in there on Wednesday night which cut down on the places to park.

Yeah I've often thought about parking on them to be honest. They are quite faded, don't know if you could argue that if you got a ticket.

The road closure have a double effect on the people leaving the ground. More and more people know they will not get out of the car parks quickly and so they take their time even getting to their cars, which in turn means they don't open the road up until later as there are still people walking on the roads. In a strange way, walking up Winding house road has caused a few near misses. People are walking on the road, they then open the road up to cars with no warning and then they speed into the path of the pedestrians who think its closed. Seen it happen a few times now

That’s a concern. There needs to be a vehicle drive up the road to tell people the road is about to open.

Where would you put the away end? Not sure there's ever really been an alternative.

Other bits are true. The stadium has the potential to be very well connected but unfortunately it is not.

1. Are they actively actually doing the road repairs? I am in CV6 weekly and it seems progress is non existent.

2. How long do the Council anticipate there will be on going issues for?

3. Why has no one come up with a better plan than leaving 1000s of motorists in gridlock for an hour when they are leaving Tescos by forcing all the traffic that is trying to get to the motorway to turn right into Tescos and go around the roundabout that hundreds are using to try and get away from the game.

Given the issues could there be some debate perhaps about alternatives as the current arrangements seem inadequate but no one seemingly is considering how it might be better.

I was just asking to see if there is a way to clear the traffic easier & totally get how everyone's safety is paramount. I have tried parking at different locations and once headed to Bedworth and onto the A444 and there were even restrictions there with no obvious reason other than to slow the traffic down. I don't always drive down but when I do I usually have to get something to eat and as long as I am on the m6 by 7 I know that I should be home by 12.

It’s a complete fuck fest - bringing dual carriageways from 3 to 2 lanes, roundabouts restricted - Foleshill road is an inch at a time - coupled with the white elephant HS2 closing the A46 - can you imagine what it’s like for an away supporter coming by car

Why is the parking so expensive at the CBS? I paid £4 at Sunderland & Preston and nothing at Blackburn, all within a 20-25 minute walk from the ground.
