US investments in the area ties them to Ukrainian’s long term security. Both the Biden and Trump teams are said to have found Zelensky to be a difficult man to deal with so Trump’s outbursts probably forced him to the negotiation table for the deal they’ve just signed. Biden was a weak president and the world knew it, he didn’t have the strength of conviction to escalate the war and tip in Ukraine’s favour or to broker a peace deal.

Trump, for all his faults, is a successful foreign policy president.
I think it is very, very early to describe him as succssful. It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out and to be fair, if US prestige/standing with its traditional allies does take a hit it could be a while before that is quantifiable.

He had a 1st term that was successful. The Abraham Accords were a massive success.

He called Kim Jong-Un ‘Rocket Man’, teased him by saying he had a bigger red button. This was derided at the time but then Trump and Kim had a summit in Singapore. Which was something of a diplomatic coup.

Politicians like Bush, Obama and Biden would say all the right things but often make little progress on foreign policy objectives. The first Trump admin was the only period Russia did not take part in aggressive military action against a neighbour. So when Trump brags that the Ukraine War wouldn’t have happened if he was President, there’s credibility to that.

Biden did some good things when the war kicked off but the Russians invaded because they genuinely thought they could get away with it.

The problem was more that they lost faith after the infamous counteroffensive failed.

It partly failed because of restrictions imposed on military given to Ukraine from Europe and the USA. Had the Ukrainians made incursions into Russian territory at the same time at the Wagner rebellion… who knows what could’ve happened.

Which makes the faux outrage from Europe and the Democrats all the more egregious and hypocritical.

The leverage the Ukrainians and US has is that the longer Russia is at war, the likelihood the regime topples as it continues to wipe out a generation of young men.

Another win for Sir Starmzy, got Trump absolutely lapping it up, he can't get enough of the UK now

Trump is expected to sign an executive order aimed at making English the official language of the U.S., according to a White House official.

It's the first time in history the U.S. would have an official language.

here fishy fishy

The more of Ukraine under Ukrainian control the more minerals he gets I guess, someone probably pointed that out to him.
I was thinking is Ukraine more secure if the likes of the US own part of the resources than them being part of NATO? The US have something to lose then.

Jesus Christ, just seen the Trump Zelensky meeting 😬

Fucking grim behaviour from The Americans, utterly rounded on him. Disgusting. Trump and Vance don't seem like serious people with an actual plan to me, that was pure macho bollocks. Yeah they want mineral rights but that was just dick swinging..

How can anyone square toadying up to Putin? Worlds gone mad

Vance might be a bigger c**t than Trump, and that takes some doing.

This is fucking pathetic from them both, telling Zelensky to say thank you, talking over him. Zelensky seriously having to bite his tongue there.

Whether there is truth to the conversation or not - the clip will play out magnificently to US Trump supporters.

Thought you were the political guru here. It’s straight out of Starmer lapping up to the Daily Mail readers handbook - which you told us was a ploy and he would ‘tack left’ after taking office.

Of course it will. Doesn't mean he's not a c**t though does it? What a silly attempt at point scoring.

FP, Grendel and Sick Boy will give it a like though I'm sure.

PVA's hero went grovelling to these cunts yesterday

Let's take away the point scoring what we are watching is mental .

The president of the United States of America and his little fuck buddy belittling the president of a country under attack infront of the world press too .

I actually had some faith this war could be resolved by peaceful means but it appears Donald Trump isn't going to be able to achieve this

And I suppose you prefer your leaders to cosy up to Hamas rather than US presidents so I understand this must be difficult for you.
Surely that’s a full house on your New New Labour bingo card isn’t it….

Truth hurts huh?

Did your hero go grovelling to Donald Trump yesterday, while another hero to be fair actually stood up for something he believed in? It appears too that he has has at last recognised how America has, as it always intended to do, utterly sold him down the river, safe with the security of an ocean between it and where conflict actually happens.
