Remove the language if you must, but the sentiment is right. If you can't see how dangerous and unpredictable Trump is, I'm more than a tad surprised.

He could never win. It was either act like Trump and Vance's bitch or stand up for himself and his country but risk America's aid because Trump is a manchild.

Personally I'm glad he didn't back down. Got more respect for him for doing that.

Thing is, I worry Trump could not just stop helping Ukraine, they could actually secretly assist the Russians as I imagine Putin is grinning with delight and ready to phone up Dumb Don to blow more smoke up his arse and massage his ego, while saying "isn't that Zelensky such a bad man! I told you he was. We can get rid of him and put someone better in charge of Ukraine..."

If the whole country is destroyed it’s still the right thing to do than be raped by so called leaders of the free world

peace is not just the absence of war it’s an overwhelming desire to build justice and accountability and future

Seriously Pete, what is the alternative? There’s a lot of faux outrage on here today but a complete unwillingness to accept the facts on the ground.

Something the West, in its complacency, has complete forgot the fundamental truism in international relations: might is right.

In the Cold War, Europe had the capacity to outproduce the USSR which was an effective deterrent in a conflict. This isn’t the case anymore and the armed forces of great powers like France, Britain and Germany is hollowed out. It’s remarkable that Poland has arguably the strongest military in Europe.

With respect to Zelensky, he doesn’t have a viable strategy to end the war favourably on Ukrainian terms and Russia has formally annexed the territories it occupies. They won’t give up those gains.

Millions of people dead. The USA withdrawing all support is the only way this ends.

As I stated before on the politics thread, I'm not big into politics so I can't be arsed with a massive debate over it, and how it started etc. It's how it ends that matters. Innocent people have been and are being killed while countries like us piss millions away on keeping it going whilst we withdraw pensioners heating allowances

No, it would not be the way it ends. It wouldn't even be the beginning of the end. It would only be the end of the beginning.

Putin gets his way, he will be back. He will invade Ukraine again. More people will be killed. Only way this ends is when Putin/Russia are stopped. It's that simple.

It’s at the point of doing the right thing
You can’t just allow Putin and trump to get what they want
I think probably the solution is zelensky and the ukraine people saying we will not surrender I remember a person in history saying something similar
Millions haven’t died
Again peace is not the absence of war

Trump’s approach really is like his TV programme it’s bizarre. It was always going to play out this way, the time to actually push for an end to the war was before Trump came in
