Im somebody who has always seen peace as the only solution because I know that without backing Ukraine cannot win this war and I also know now that a european task force confronting russia and fighting on the ground and in the air would potentially cause much larger global problems .. but I'm so furious with how the Americans have treated this bloke my logical and rational thought process on this is starting to quiver a bit

I just need to understand that there’s a legitimate argument that real men can behave like assholes day in day out and others respect them and are maybe inspired by them

Whatever you think of Trump there has been more focus on ending this pointless war of death and destruction in the last 3 weeks than the previous 3 years

The war was not ending as no one wanted it to. No one in the US gives a fuck about Ukraine. Stop being naive.

If it wasn't all over social media and the news getting people angry I'm sure they wouldn't either.

People saying they are more angry than they have ever been and furious with the way Zelensky was spoken to, think there needs to be a bit of a reality check with life.

The facts appear to be…

- Ukraine cannot continue to fight the war or even defend themselves properly, without significant U.S assistance
- Europes inaction over recent years to increase defence spending/capacity has left a reliance on U.S.
- The U.S. has no skin in the game really, this is on our doorstep, not theirs
- Trump is anti war
- The minerals deal was pretty much agreed and just needed signing - my understanding is this relates to future support not historical
- Zelensky should’ve gone with an interpreter - I heard someone on the radio who made a great point about it making sure there was no misunderstandings but more importantly it would’ve taken heat out of situation
- Trump and even more so, Vance’s, conduct in public in that way was totally unacceptable...however, we still need the US onside and to remain in NATO for at least the foreseeable future.

I still think a deal will be done. I just hope that at least some of trumps actions/words have been done to get Putin to the table and that any ‘deal’ doesn’t just hand over everything Putin wants.
