Doubt you will see a much worse 45 minutes by this Liverpool team any time soon

If this somehow ends 0-0, Liverpool are going to be delighted. PSG have had enough chances to seal the tie in one go.

2nd Leg will be interesting, Barca beat PSG in Paris 2-3 and then PSG went and absolutely smashed them in Spain.

Also Donnaruma, for a keeper that is so highly rate he is actually a bit shit

Absolutely ridiculous that penalty is ruled out. A law brought in to prohibit players touching the ball nearer the goal is used to rule out a nye on instantaneous and unintentional double hit.
was that the willie carr rule - was allowed before he took the free kick with both feet ?

Not really, that has to be the rule and the application of the rule or players would abuse it.

There's obviously a reason for it, but why do the rules not allow for a retake in those (admittedly rare) circumstances? If they'd VAR checked for the keeper for being off his line, just as an example, it would have been wouldn't it? Just curious why this one automatically goes down as a miss.

PSG look so much better for not having a side of big names/egos

Dembele finally looks the player that Barca spent millions on, Kvaratshkelia sublime, Barcola sublime, Donnarumma great tournament goalie

They'll tank Villa and do believe it is their time to finally win it

Always feel that they did their best to bend the UCL for an El Classico final for years during the Ronaldo/Messi years - they pretty much always conveniently ended up on the opposite sides of the draw (2011 the only exception) and alas one of them would always end up getting knocked out

Feel that is the case this season as well

What, feigning a slip whilst approaching the ball to gain an advantage? Don't think so...
Allowing players to touch the ball twice would open a can of worms. The rule is fine, the application is fine.

I still hate VAR and would get rid but as with the Wright goal at Wembley this is the correct application of the current rules.

How would it open a can of worms?

It's the same rule that says you can't dribble it in from a penalty, hit the post and score the rebound without another player touching it and it applies to all set pieces.

It's not a new rule, it's been there for probably longer than I've been alive.
