Higher away following offsetting the lower home ticket sales.

There’s only going to be 300 extra away fans. Stoke brought 2.7k

Why everyone so negative 😕
Because we're shipping goals and have just lost to Derby County. 😂

I'm not sure it's negativity; they are also a better team than us this season, as evidenced by the league table. Realistically, we're probably not favourites, despite the good record against them.

Sunderlands last 10 form is extremely mediocre. You've got a home defeat to Hull, you've got home draws to all of Plymouth, Watford, Preston... all games that we've won btw. People have absolute lost their minds because we've lost a game finally. Every chance we get something from this.

Yup, 9 off. 16 points last season with a GD swing would have been good enough for 6th.

It's up for grabs now...

16 points is very doable but I don’t think we’ll need that many. The league is trending downwards from last season. We’re 1 point worse-off from 23/24 but our league position is better.

A win at the weekend will mean that we’ll be unlikely to fall out of the playoffs before the Burnley game. But we’ve got to be wary of Boro as their GD is a lot better than ours and they’ve got two winnable games v Luton and Oxford. Then their program gets more difficult.

Bristol City, I’m less worried about because their run in is tougher than ours.

Agree. And that's reflected in the odds. To get to 70 points, Bristol need 16 and that looks unlikely from their remaining fixtures. Boro 17 points, but more likely. Might be a winner takes all last game of the season...

We really could do with Luton going on a nice run and being safe before we play them as they play Boro, Bristol and us at home!

It’s easy to look at the last 3 games and say we’ve not played well, which is true. However, these teams play low blocks and try to hit us on the counter and can be difficult to break down. At least in these next 3 games, the games should be more open to create better chances.

With Pompey beating Leeds and Derby beating ourselves, you can’t take for granted that the teams at the bottom will just crumble to the teams around us and only just beat us. They will be tough games but they’re down there for a reason.

Tickets sales have stalled, shame really as I thought this being our last 3pm Saturday kick off it would of sold out

Some people can't afford it at nearly £40 a pop. I know someone who took his family last week (2 adults and 2 kids), spent £125 in total. To repeat tomorrow would be closer to £150. Last week was always going to be a better turn out, if you're picking your games and can't do them all, makes sense you'd go for the cheaper one.

I'm not sure why so many people are worried about this one like we're playing Barcelona.

Yes it was a poor performance on Tuesday night and yes, we shipped 2 goals in each of our last 3 games but we scored 6 goals in two of those games.

Bar Tuesday, we'd lost 1 in 10 with only Leeds beating us.

Sunderland haven't been great recently, our recent record against them is great and we'll no doubt bounce back. As for Wright & EMC, more minutes for them the other night (regardless of performance) will have been beneficial.

I think we'll see this one out 2-1 or 3-1.

The March to the Arch continues...

Shipped 2 goals in our last 3 games against much lower teams. We need to defend much deeper against Sunderland whose effective tactic if to loft a long ball to their quick forwards.
If we use the high line we will be done for.

I would expect players even with niggles to play tomorrow - we the have 2 weeks off.

All about digging in.
Grimes has missed what is 5 games in the last x amount of years, he's probably used to playing with a niggle.

As you said important game and then 2 weeks off so an injury would need to be pretty bad to stop people playing.

Sunderland are tough, it will be a battle. That said, they've had some shaky results last 10 with draws against teams we have beaten. The good side is Sunderland are terrible at defending crosses into the box, we have been fantastic at getting good delivery and scoring headers. Expect to see a tonne of crosses into the box. Danger is their front men, tricky wingers and a striker that knows how to find the net against our shaky defence. Bidwell or Dasilva will find it tough. Sunderland have caused trouble to nearly all defences so there's no doubt we will concede. My prediction is 2-2 (Unless the enthusiasm vs Derby shows up).

Team I'd go for...

Dovin
MVE - Thomas - Kitching - Binks
Allen - Grimes
Torp
Sakamoto - Simms - Wright

If it doesn't go our way Bassette needs to come to pressure the defence, such a high energy player, chasing down everything and playing more direct - sounds like EMC is going to be managed with maybe 20 mins. I'm not against a back 5, I just think Sakamoto will be key for this game, one of our better wingers at creating crosses/ chances into the box.
