Which again shows an irrational bias "you fucking gimp".

In what way is it irrational? Believing one player is better than another? Yep all rationale out the window.

From what im told really quiet personality that does his talking with the way he works. He deserves his extension and deserves fans respect. I for one am happy to be proved wrong about what role he can play at the club. And if and i know its a big if we got promoted, i think he would be the player id be most happy for.

In times when players are paid well and in some cases over paid, Jamie Allen is not one of them. Old school pro that deserves all he gets from the game.

I've said for a long time now (and taken quite a bit of stick from my group of friends for it) that on his day, Jamie Allen is one of the best players in the team and when he plays well, he's unplayable and completely runs the game. Think back to his performance against the mackums, funnily enough, at St.Andrews last hone game before covid. He got MOTM and again, like today, completely controlled the game. It's such a shame he doesn't do it consistently. He looks world class one week, then bang average then next. I still think he should be starting ahead of Eccles, but that's just my opinion. Others will disagree. I'm happy Lamps has come in and seen something in him that Robins didn't.

I’m not sure he controlled the game, but he definitely sets the tone. When he’s having one of his Kante games, when he’s everywhere, it just lifts the whole team. Thought Ebou Adams had a similar sort of game for Derby on Tuesday.

In the absence of Liam Kelly then yes he is the one who does deserve the opportunity of being in a premier league squad. He is consistently now performing each time he is picked and the team just look better when he is in it right now.

I have been critical of Allen in the past, Robins played him out wide on many occasions and he was like a little puppy trying to get to the ball but since Frank has been here he plays him more central and at last we see the real Jamie Allen he was awesome yesterday, never did I think I would see the day I would eat humble pie over him but a massive credit where its due

Ok if you want to be abusive.

Eccles match ratings since lampard has come in. He’s not had one game at a 7.00 or above. He is a bang bang average footballer in a team that based on league position is far above the average in the league. He is not good enough if we want to progress

Even in the game against Plymouth when he scored 2 goals. 🤭

When did Robins play him out wide??

SBT have an amazing ability to make a negative out of a positive. Allen has just had a brilliant performance so of course we need to bring down and slate another player.

Same for another thread where, even though we're the league's 4th top goal scorers, we apparently don't score enough.

When really they just want to have a not so subtle dig at Simms.

Seen it elsewhere today too. Can't be happy for Grimes, Torp, Rudoni or Allen playing well. They all are, but used as a chance to say Sheaf is finished or Eccles isn't good enough. We'll need all of them if we're to reach Wembley.

That game was conveniently left out of the list of games since FL has been here.
I hope it was not selective but even if it was, those ratings are not brilliant.

Eccles is a good pro and one of the better we have had emerge from our academy in recent seasons and I want him to train on under Lampards guidance but realistically currently he looks like a solid 4th or 5th choice CM option in the 433 system.

He quoted that Eccles hadn't got above 7 since FL was appointed missing out all games where FL was here from November until the 4th January, 1 of which was the 4-0 win against Plymouth where Eccles scored 2. Cynically I would suggest that Eccles probably got a 7 for that so it doesn't fit his narrative 🤔
I agree that Eccles is now down the pecking order but we will need the whole squad in the next 8, hopefully 11 games. Before yesterday how many would be picking JDS & Allen for Sheff Utd away.

It will be no surprise when there is a press announcement that Jamie Allen has been offered a contract extension. Surely something must be happening with him

Allen is our own Duracell bunny, always on the move. He is the driving force going forward and he always turns upfield when he get the ball. grimes is the perfect foil for him, breaking up play and making tackles then giving it to Allen to progress. We have a really good squad now, and we'll need all of them to get promoted.

Allen has had games where he is bullied and offers nothing. If he was like this week in week out he wouldn't be classed as a squad player

So I hope he continues to play like this and play games but we may yet need Sheaf and Eccles before it's all said and done

Midfield has been a weak point since hamer went. At the minute it doesn't seem like such an issue anymore so that's a good thing

Bit of bickering in this thread (shock) so made me think about our midfield

And amazingly, for me anyway, I had Sheaf as the 4th choice out of 5. Prepared for pelters of course But how I would rank them in order of importance to us now

Grimes
Rudoni
Torp
Allen
Sheaf
Eccles
How times have changed regarding Sheaf. I think you have it spot on

@Saddlebrains have we heard what sheaf’s latest issue is?

midfield surely stays same for next game - hopefully Rudy on bench (maybe sheaf)

Nope, just a 'knock'.

Problem is he's consistently missed a quarter to a third of a season since we had him, this season over half

It's gotten to the point where he's not worth it anymore. And I say that as a massive Sheaf fan.

We will be offloading him in the summer after triggering his extra year, but we wont get anywhere north of 6 million (we want 6 apparently, and with Vik certain to move this summer that will give is around 12 million to throw around and hopefully keep Milan and Haji)
