Sorry, I'm no racist, but I will lose no sleep when that woman goes. And her followers are doing just the same to the country as she did. PS I'm no leftie either

That's what you get when you have state educated politicians.

It's called a debate Cloughie, each person believes they are right, did Obama in the debates say, "Mitt, you're right, your 5 point plan will get America back on track, I am wrong." No, because he has different views on the economy, socially and foreign policy so puts forward his opinions. I think you struggle to understand this.

My forte might be the :jerkit: ... So what? Your forte is getting personal, which is first signs of losing an argument. If someone disagrees with you, you get personal, and you're supposed to be some 'hot-shot' who is a mature adult!?

I don't know why you had to make that immature comment regarding torch and I, it was needless and an immature attempt to get me to say 'I'm smarter than torch', turning us against each other, divide and rule tactics...

What did you want me to say back to that comment, I took it in, I understand it. You want me to get personal? I wouldn't stoop to your level.

You are in your own world divide and rule you and torch? ...............lol what the hell are you on about

You are beginning to resemble chemical Ali

Hotshot are your words not mine, I deal in fact and know what I have done and do

It is always personal for you when someone doesn't agree with you and your posts contradict the levels you stoop to

you are immature

Race and racism are not just about the colour of skin but also a person's nationality, culture etc. So being abusive towards someone because of their nationality is just as racist as being abusive towards someone because of their skin colour.

Racism is abuse by the majority against a minority group within that society.
Are you really dense or just a troll?

It probably sounds hypocritical but me and my mates take the piss out of eachother all the time, fat this, bald this etc, but never Black this, white that. It's just a unwritten rule of respect.

And that's perhaps how things have changed. Group of mates at uny consisted of a guy with Indian parents, black guy and a guy whos dad was of far eastern origin, Thai I think? Loved each other to bits but our banter did extend to racial lines. As I say, would be inappropriate now if overheard

I don't agree with what changeyourface is saying, but you are also wrong.
Racism can be from any race to any race. It doesn't matter where it is or who is minority or majority.

He's putting xenophobia and racism together, which aren't the same thing.

Not saying it doesn't happen, and if it's all good banter then fair enough. We just don't.
Might get on board with it though. Mix it up a little.

The nature of it was quite gentle I guess. We'd wind up Gov if we were out. "Who s minding the shop" juvenile Stuff. He constantly tell us that when "my lot" take over you bitches will be working for me. That kind of stuff. And if for one minute we thought offence would be taken it wouldn't have happened. Times move on and I would be careful of that kind of stuff now in case it offended others who weren't on on it

I'm a schoolboy, what can I say?

I resemble 'Chemical Ali'? How, and on what basis?

I don't get personal, nor do I take it personally when someone disagrees with me, I argue my point, isn't this the point of a forum?

I grew up in the 60/70's and racism was rife. I remember when Gary Thompson first played for the city and at least half the ground were yelling give him a banana, including me 13/14yrs old. He then went and scored and they stopped yelling it. As I got older I stopped following my dad's and about 80% of the population view and made my own mind up that we are all human beings and mostly have the same aspirations for our life's. and the positive thing to come out of those bad years is that most people have come to the same conclusion. We do not need to return to those days for any reason.

You've literally just proved my point. People of other nationalities are a minority group in Britain, so racism towards them is exactly the same as racism towards a different minority i.e coloured people.

By your reasoning if I'm from an ethnic minority I can't be racist because I'm not the majority. For instance using your logic if I flew over to a country where the majority of the population was black I'd be quite ok to start calling people "niggers" because I'd be the minority. Yet I'm dense..

Being French isn't a race, it is a nationality. Being Black, White, Asian, Latino, etc. are 'races' and prejudges of these is racism.

Two sides of the same coin really, many people are accused of racism because of their views on immigration. Especially in recent years towards eastern europeans, but they're white. In fact you could argue, using that logic, that we're all part of the human race so it's actually impossible to be racist because we're all the same race.

I said that at the top of the page. He appears to be on a crusade.

It appears so...

Or just trying to deliberately awkward.

With nationalities, I think you can poke fun at it, have a bit of friendly banter, if you're proud of your nationality, you wont take offence if some calls you an 'English c**t' but not when it comes to skin colour etc. that is when it gets out of hand.

An example of my last post was the programme on ITV called "love thy neighbour" the most racist programme ever. I'm sure anyone over 40 will remember it

Yet I'm dense..

Now we're getting somewhere.

If a Frog was describing his ethnicity..... he'd say: "white European".
Calling him a "French c**t" is abuse because in Europe he represents the majority.....they get the best jobs, live in the right areas, etc.
HOWEVER, if you called an Algerian a pejorative term that would be "racist"
because as a minority they suffer discrimination on account of their ethnicity.
Generally white people do not suffer discrimination within their own society therefore to be rude to a honky is just that; rudeness.........not racism.
That is the fourth time I have explained what the difference is. It isn't my interpretation but based on how it is defined in law. I understand the difference, my five year old does.....why can't you?

Because your view of racism is that only the majority can be racist towards a minority. I'll give you my example again: If I lived in a Black majority country it would still be racist of me to call someone a "nigger" it would not just be, how you put it "rude".

That is only because the hegemony - i.e., the power exerted within that black society hails from that society where they (the dominant force) are the majority.
Since we were initially talking about racism here you are still wrong but you are right that "nigger" is also racist in some countries where western imperialism calls the shots.
Context is important but perceived racial grievances are always to do with how insults are received and not how they are intended to be received. In other words if Suarez gave offence by calling Evra "negrito" he should have held his hands up and apologised.
The fact that Liverpool supported Suarez shows how they did not understand this key distinction.....so you're not alone.

Patient choice doesn't exist. If you're ill you'll go to the nearest hospital. Why would you go elsewhere?

It doesn't exist now yes, but that was the point. Patients could be free to choose elsewhere for example, if their the nearest hospital or GP practice provided poor service, had an incompetent doctor etc. Could also help avoid the current postcode lottery where treatments are sometimes available in certain areas/trusts, but not others.

Isn't the Leicester thing more a projection that in 10 years or so white people will make up less than 50%? Surely that's only the minority if you lump everyone who's non-white together in a big group.

If you do that, call them Diversity and watch them dance up a storm.

Whats the point in doing that? Racism has no place in football and never will. Why does some twit not understand that?

I take it you are one of the younger fans. Racism used to be the norm. Certain tv shows will never get repeated they were so racist. Black players used to get abuse nearly every game. This is why we can't allow any steps backward.

Oh, I obviously hadn't bothered to read that bit. To be fair though, I don't know what I'm on about most of the time.

Thats why I posted 'in his own world' i don't know what he was on about with regards divide and rule you and him

Why would you go any further? Most people don't want to.

I never remember any of that when I was a kid, worst I remember was Newcastle singing about a town full of pakis. That's the only racist language I've heard at a football match.

Oh, there were lots of stuff going on in the 80s. Even at HR I remember Leeds fans (I think!) throwing bananas onto the pitch for corners. I've lost count of racists chants both from the opposition and some of our lot that I heard back then.
