2 games to go (40 Viewers)

This game is just as difficult as it's against a side playing for their survival in the Championship. If Lampard doesn't set us up wrong for our opponents like he did with Plymouth we will have a better chance of getting something from the game.
And Derby unfortunately not like he hasn't been forwarned.

I am pretty confident about Saturday and I sure we will get a reaction to the Plymouth game.

We only need a point. Luton have to win. We might be able to exploit that. Plus we played very well in the two games prior to the Plymouth game, so you would expect a better effort this Saturday.

Plus, there is a bit of the revenge factor too. They went up, we stayed where we were. Now we could pretty much send them down.

I wasn't nervous for WBA. I did think we would struggle at the "they are bottom for a reason" Plymouth game and it proved to be the case.

I just knew Plymouth would play well.

Luton have to win. That may prove to be very nervy for them

My gut feeling on the day was that we’d draw because I couldn’t recall us going back to back on the Easter games.

It is a bit reductive, but our results this season has pretty much been decided by the first goal. It’s something we need to get much better at next season, something similar happened in the L2 days.

Against Luton, I’d like to see us be a bit more conservative and let the pressure mount up on them to come at us so we can find the spaces that Plymouth didn’t allow.

You are right, I didn’t feel nervous v WBA or any game at home for that matter, including Boro.

Two games to go. Essentially it is the playoffs already as the matches are more or less knock-out.

I have concerns that we aren't tough enough when we are playing teams that are fighting to the death. Hopefully that won't be the case and we can put Luton out for the count. We can then worry about not losing to Middlesbrough. Gonna be tense.

Let’s say we don’t make it and it’s a Sheff Utd Vs Sunderland final…who’d you want to go up?

Sunderland for me.

Sheff Utd

If Sunderland go up it would leave us to compete against one more team with parachute payments

If we draw the next two games we're in the play offs.

If someone had told me that at the start of the season I'd have been delighted

If you had told me that in November I would've allowed you to do unspeakable things to me

No matter what happens it has been a brilliant 2nd half of the season. If Lampard can get us going from August next year, then I am very hopeful for next season

Would I want a hippopotamus to drag itself from a stagnant swamp and empty its bowels directly into my mouth or would I want a horny gorilla to to swing down from its tree and force itself into my anus? These choices are still preferable to the above.

Blackburn?

Would have to win at Sheffield Utd on the last day

Its entirely within our hands. We don't actually have to do much.

2 pts from 2 games. Its relegation form and we're in.

If we don't make it then it is only ourselves to blame

2 points from 2 games and milwall and Blackburn can finish above us, still think we get 4 points, preferably do it by getting 3 points Saturday

But highly unlikely.

I am convinced 2 points will be enough
That’s to get 6th, think we need to finish 5th to have a go, we”ll suprise everyone by hammering Luton and middlesborough, 😉 mad, we could actually finish the season only 4 points behind Sunderland 😳

Enough to send my heart into palpitations and my arse to drop through the floor.

Easy point at Luton then a first minute goal against Middlesbrough on the way to a 5-0 win please.

We might just see a reaction from Norwich, their having just sacked their manager.

Could play with a lot more freedom and we know at times, Norwich have looked a very decent side.

But the reality is, we would really need a Norwich win there, as otherwise, if we both draw, it makes no difference.

If we draw and Middlesbrough win -

We will be a point ahead of them going into the last game and would only need a draw for us to ensure we finish above them. They would obviously have to win

If we draw and Boro draw -

it's still the exact same scenario and we would only require the draw and they would need the win.

Best scenario is that we win at Luton and they only draw or lose. We would then be uncatchable.

Obviously need to keep an eye on Blackburn and Millwall too, but I don't think they will catch us, as they both have incredibly tough last games away from home.

A win for us would also eliminate Blackburn from the picture and Millwall then would need a big goal difference swing to catch us.

Millwall could feasibly overtake Bristol, mind.

I am sure 2 draws wil be enough. Be fantastic if we can beat Luton though.

We don’t need anything from Norwich because we will make the playoffs if we beat Boro in every permutation.

Millwall needs a 6 GD swing and for Boro to beat us on the last day. They have Burnley on the final who will be playing for the title. With Bristol playing Leeds away next, it’s unlikely they will extend their 1 point lead over us.

On this thread and the last, the panic and anxiety has set in well and truly in some quarters. If we beat Boro, it is close to a 99% chance we finish 5th.

True, but I would rather not HAVE to beat Boro.

A Norwich win could be fabulous for us.

Cardiff away 2 points dropped
Derby 3 points dropped
Hull 2 points dropped
Plymouth 3 points dropped

Us away against some of the basement boys under frank

Not included pompey 4-1 when they were bottom
Might as well include it along with Stoke away 3 points dropped which probably isn’t fair to FL, but we have to own it as a team.

Suppose both teams match each other’s results at the weekend, the game remains ‘winner takes all’.

Boro slip up and lose, even a draw allows us to go on our holidays before the final day.
