Bottled It (10 Viewers)

There's always next season with a few players shipped out and a few upgrades.

Completely bottled it with performances like that in the last 2 games and then Hull / Derby etc.

In our L2 season we hit form at the perfect moment and we went in to games and I felt invincible. There wasn't a team or game I feared a loss in. Same in our L1 promotion and with Hamer and Vik the same in our Chamionship final year. Always felt we were good enough.
This team has such a weak underbelly. Simms jogs around with his eyes closed and 95% on his heels and wrong footed. Wright has a good game every so often then dissapears for 8 games. And we've no options off the bench up front either. And let's not even start on the defence and Brad Collins. I'd go as far as saying this is the worst team/squad we've had since being back in the championship, it it cost millions too. The most we've ever spent, for pure shite!

Always hard against teams fighting relegation, look how many times we avoided relegation by beating better teams when we were in the top flight.
Todays performance was brilliant considering the circumstances with DaSilvas send off. Kitching and Collins would have been MOM contenders if not for the cock up at the end which imo was 100pct Collins fault, he should have stayed on his line as Kitching had already won the header. I am confident we beat Boro, and equally confident that Millwall will not win their last 2 games. We have blown 5th now, not mathmatically, but realistically, so we will likely play Sheff Utd over 2 legs should we get there. If not then FL, builds a team in the summer and hopefully we are in contention throughout the whole season.

When fit, our starting 11 is the best we’ve had since 1999-00

The problem is the handful of junk that is backup.

Collins, Simms, Desilva, Binks, Bidwell (recently)

Get decent replacements for them and we’ll fly

It's far from a "handful" of junk. The entire back up of squad if the 11 starters aren't fit is shit. As shown by taking 1 point from Hull, Plymouth and Luton and being handed our arsed by Derby.
With possibly the exception of Torp.
Let's be honest, if fully fit the starting 11 picks itself.
Then the back up is
Simms
BTA
Rapheal
Binks
Lati
Bassette
Collins
Bidwell.
Not one of them gets in to our L1 team. I mean, even our starting 11, Thomas and Kitching aren't getting a game ahead of Fadz and Hyam. Granted, Godden and Kelly weren't getting much game time, but both experienced players that are both MUCH better options off the bench than what we currently have.

Overall it’s still a better team than anything else we’ve had though since returning to the Championship

If Hamer or Gyokeres had got injuries in 22-23 we’d have got no where near the playoffs.

Today we showed a lot of bottle to be fair to the team, probably the most dogged performance and only lost a point because of idiotic decision making by the goalkeeper.

The bigger problem is Lampard's record against the bottom half

His record matches Robins record.

The players attitude (not today in fairness to them) is the problem

The spine of the team is completely non-existent. There are huge question marks at GK, CB, LB, and ST next week, and that’s assuming all our short-term injury problems get resolved.

1 point from Hull, Plymouth and Luton is absolutely shite.

Just one win out of those three and we'd be pretty much there.

A decent first 16 games and we’d be there

We have the 4th most points in the league since Lampard took over.

The top 3 are the only clubs who have more.

He's P9 of the current bottom 12. Lost 5 of those and won twice. He's lost to the bottom club at the time twice. One thing Robins was good at was beating teams lower down the table.

Under Robins we played 8 of the current bottom 12. Lost 5 and won 2.

It’s a near identical record

But even with a poor first 16 games, we were comfortably there 2 weeks ago.
We were top of the form tables, looking nailed on for a playoff place.

Imo, that all changed when Dovin fucked his knee up, Thomas picked up an injury and Simms disappeared up his own arse.

Simms wasn’t exactly prolific 3 weeks ago to be honest

If Thomas is back for Middlesbrough I think we will win, we are good at home and with Thomas back with Kitch hopefully we are well organised at the back and don't let Collins have the chance to make any rash decisions (I think if Lampard was gonna drop him he would have by now)

Let's all get behind them big time on Saturday and push them over the line then start again with a clean slate in the playoffs

we know if EMC was fit then simms wouldnt start, that’s our problem, you can afford injuries but not in the positions we’ve had them in, like today, Collins And binks don’t get near that team, both cost us today,

Bottled it thread when this time next week we might have clinched playoffs?

And for that reason. I'm out
Problem is, we all know that the play-offs is a game of form. Not about the best team.over the entire season, but about the teams that finds the form at the opportune moment. Our for in our last 6 is abysmal.
Current play-off hopefuls form last 6
Blades LLLWLW 6points
Mackums WWDLLL 7points
Brizzle LWWWDL 10points
Us LWDLLL 4points
Boro WWLLWL 9points
Millwall LWWWLW 12points.
The worst form going in to the play-offs. Brizzle and Blades are the teams to beat and they will be the final 2. I think Hamer will be the difference. The "cheat code".

Get Vardy in!
Better than what we currently have. Has form of getting a team out of this league. Wouldn't take him for more than 1 season though at his age. I'd also possibly look taking Kiefer Moore from Blades. He's been limited to game time with them in this league, he'll get even less if they do go up.
